Seville is the protagonist, location or inspiration for a large number of artistic projects and a destination already inseparable from major national and international events. Thus, Seville is part of the cast of series, films or some of the most famous operas. In relation to the latter genre, the city closes the spring season with this ambitious musical series: ‘Sevilla Opera Nights’.

Its next event closes the season at the Hospital de la Santa Caridad with a performance of ‘The Barber of Seville’.
However, there were other appointments that, as usual, took place in the Palacio de las Dueñas and the Casa de Salinas.
The Association of Palace Houses of Seville launched this program in collaboration with Engranajes Culturales and Classical Passion & More.
In any case, it is a series of performances to highlight the link between opera and such emblematic places of the city as those responsible for hosting these concerts.
Opera classics in Seville
Sevilla Opera Nights’ takes place in three dream locations: the Palacio de las Dueñas, La Casa de Salinas and the Hospital de la Caridad.
All of them represent respectively three of the great opera librettos that take place in the city. Works that have in the city of Seville as their main source of inspiration, being opera an art form that combines music, narrative and theater in a unique emotional experience.
- The Hospital de la Caridad hosted the performance of the grand opera buffa The Barber of Seville on May 31 at 10:00 pm.
- The cycle included the performance of Don Giovanni in the Renaissance courtyard of the Casa de Salinas. This iconic historic building was the setting for an unforgettable operatic experience on April 6 at 9:00 pm.
Carmen in Las Dueñas
- The season to start gradually with the programming of two new performances of Carmen. The Palacio de las Dueñas takes up again the relationship of the House of Alba with Bizet’s opera Carmen, whose creator, Prosper Merimée, settles the plot of this opera in letters with the Empress Eugenia de Montijo, sister of the Duchess of Alba. An original and exclusive production that can be enjoyed on August 30 at 10:00 pm and September 20 at 9:30 pm.
A selection of the main arias, duets and recitatives of the work will be performed at both dates.
