In recent years the Andalusian capital has become a focus of culture and has undoubtedly resulted in an unprecedented tourist success. But also in the possibility that thousands of Sevillians can enjoy hundreds of cultural activities in their free time. Seville fills with art the exhibition is a combination of avant-garde and innovation in these varied exhibitions that offer a nourishing debate between artists and spectators.
1. Pedro Roldán, sculptor at the Fine Arts Museum
The Museum of Fine Arts hosts an anthological exhibition dedicated to the sculptor Pedro Roldán (1624 – 1699) until March 10, 2024. One of the exhibitions that can be seen in Seville this season on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the birth of the Baroque artist.
The event, curated by José Roda Peña, praises his work and compiles a selection of pieces made throughout his career. Specifically, it brings together pieces from the Cathedral of Seville, the National Museum of Sculpture or the Prado Museum and even two creations of his daughter, la Roldana.

2. Temporary exhibitions at the CAAC
In the coming months, the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Seville will be hosting a number of interesting temporary exhibitions. They are as follows:
- Concha Jerez. Silencios de tiempos can be seen in the East Cloister of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo until April 28th. In this case, it integrates an amalgam of works by the Canarian conceptual artist Concha Jerez.
- The different rooms of the South Cloister compile the works of the Estampa Popular groups that were formed in Andalusia. A compilation with the production carried out by this different artists of this association. Specifically, it was a group of anti-Francoist visual artists that was born in the late 1950s in Madrid. The common denominator: “to create affordable prints that promote a critical reflection on current events”. Available until April 21.
- Finally, the CAAC’s monumental Zone will be dedicated until March 31 to the Polish artist and activist Małgorzata Mirga-Tas. The exhibition is articulated around three major projects and three smaller ones, which this exhibition synthesizes from the Andalusian and Sevillian context.

3. Expanded visions. Photography and experimentation at CaixaFórum
Expanded Visions. Photography and experimentation immerses the viewer in the universe of experimental photography. A journey from its beginnings in the twentieth century to our time in almost a hundred works. To this end, he puts historical and contemporary works in dialogue, highlighting the affinities and analogies between creators from other periods and different movements.
An approach to this branch of photography in collaboration with the Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre National d’Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou in Paris.

4. Temporary exhibitions at the Casa de la Ciencia
The 2023 – 2024 season at the Casa de la Ciencia in Seville kicked off last September with an extensive catalog of temporary exhibitions. Namely: The Museum in Antarctica, produced by the National Museum of Natural Sciences (MNCN/CSIC), and El poder de los cristales. Its impact on science, art and thought. Both samples will be available until July 14, 2024.

5. Lenten sections in Fundación Cajasol
The Tramos de Cuaresma exhibition brings together a whole Program of activities and exhibitions between February 16 and March 21 (in addition to the concert “La Resurreziones HWV47” by Haendel, which will take place on March 31).
Thus, within the framework of this calendar of events, these three exhibitions are launched:
- “A Dios por la orfebrería” Anthology of the Delgado Brothers, until March 3. Vanguardia Hall, Patio and High Gallery.

6. The Manila shawl: from Canton to Seville. 100 years of Juan Foronda
Casa Fabiola, this majestic 16th century Sevillian palace, houses one of the least known museum spaces in the city. This season the Bellver Museum of Seville is dedicated to the manila shawl with an exhibition that disseminates and highlights the history, uses and manufacture of this garment.
