Seville understands better than anyone that, given the high temperatures that dominate the city during the summer, you have to make the most of the evenings. That’s why cultural venues like the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art (CAAC) are once again making their facilities available for a lively summer program. Thus, in addition to its usual summer film series and the eagerly awaited return of the Pop CAAC festival in September, there’s a major event for music lovers: the jazz series that takes place every Tuesday in July and August.
Asejazz (Seville Jazz Association), the organization that began in late 2012 and to which we owe the revitalization of the genre in the city, returns with a new series of live performances set to kick off next Tuesday, July 7.
In total, concerts have been scheduled for the evenings throughout the summer months, making for the perfect way to enjoy live music under the stars.
All events will begin at 10:00 p.m. with a very affordable flat rate: €10 for the general public (and between €4 and €5 for Assejazz members).
CAAC Jazz Series 2026 Schedule
The first confirmed dates for this summer’s lineup already promise a journey through the different facets of contemporary and Spanish jazz:
- Melina Paxinos Quartet – Tuesday, July 7. The Greek saxophonist and composer arrives in Seville to kick off the series with her unique take on modern jazz.
- Eric Alexander Jazz Syndicate – Tuesday, July 14. A spectacular international project led by one of the most influential and respected voices in contemporary tenor saxophone.
- Veículo Longo – Tuesday, July 21. Hailing from Granada, this sextet of veteran musicians breaks the mold by fusing instrumental jazz with electroacoustic, Latin, and psychedelic elements.
- Sara Lilu Quintet – Tuesday, July 28. One of the most interesting emerging voices pushing the boundaries of the genre beyond its traditional definition.
- Piet Verbist “Flamenco Jazz Summit” – Tuesday, August 4. The renowned Belgian double bassist presents a daring project that explores the paths and connections between jazz and flamenco’s roots.
- 7xMEDIO – Tuesday, August 11. A fascinating Spanish jazz performance, perfect for the second week of the month.
- Elas e o Jazz – Tuesday, August 18. A must-see for fans of the genre and vocal harmonies, led by the voices of Marta Hugon, Mariana Norton, and Joana Machado, accompanied by a top-notch instrumental trio.
Other summer activities at the CAAC
Alongside the well-known jazz concert series, the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art is dedicating itself to summer programming with must-see events such as its summer movie series, which will liven up Wednesday nights, and the famous Pop CAAC festival, which will serve as the grand finale to the season starting in September with a lineup that never disappoints.
