To give yourself a few days of idyll as a couple (or with yourself) should not be limited exclusively to events such as anniversaries, summer vacations or Valentine’s Day. Andalusia treasures prodigies of nature, haute cuisine, hotels to which to retire without check-out and getaways that would fit in any type of Valentine’s Day.
In this regard, we have selected some idyllic proposals to disconnect and discover this land of cinema.
Some of these destinations require just a few hours to explore many of its corners; others require hours on the road; and some awaken the spirit of letting yourself go.
Disparate but charming destinations for you to escape to Andalusia to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
1. Jerez de la Frontera
That love should be celebrated indiscriminately and without regard to specific dates is not an obstacle to say that Jerez de la Frontera is always a good idea. A trip to this wine destination is one of the best getaways you can take for Valentine’s Day on many levels.
Touring its centenary wineries, falling in love with its charming narrow streets (beware, Jerez has one of the most beautiful streets in the world according to UNESCO), or tasting its brutal gastronomy are among its must-dos.
A city that expresses itself with a multitude of nuances, that drinks from its Flemish roots and the uniqueness of its wines and that also houses the “Best Wine Tourism Hotel”.
In any case, if you finally do not spend the night in Jerez, this restaurant is well worth a gastronomic visit.

2. Osuna
Although this Sevillian municipality has forcefully earned international recognition for its participation in Game of Thrones, its tourist offer goes beyond that.
While it is not easy to detach itself from the landmarks that mark fame, Osuna did not need a superproduction to embellish this small Sevillian town.
The uniqueness of Osuna governs every corner of this popular town in the Sevillian countryside.
Palatial houses and a large number of architectural gems, baroque buildings, sacred art and roots of different peoples have transformed this land into an unbeatable destination. Its heritage is formidable and for this reason the historic center of the town was designated as a Historic-Artistic Site back in 1967.
More than half a century later, UNESCO recognizes a street in Osuna as the most beautiful in Spain and the second most beautiful in the old continent.
For all these reasons, Osuna is a destination close to Seville but one of the infallible getaways to go as a couple this Valentine’s Day.

3. Zuheros
It is thought that the first settlers of Zuheros, the Banu Himsi, arrived in these lands towards the end of the 9th century. This group of Muslims would settle in an area of crags called “Sujayra” (and which give name to the village) and on one of the cliffs built the imposing castle that presides over Zuheros. From the heights of the castle, the panoramic view of the surroundings is extraordinary.
Zuheros is wrapped in an ocean of olive trees and governs the Subbetica from the huge crag on which it is situated. Its streets are labyrinths of lime that hide small squares, bends and viewpoints of great beauty. No wonder they have designated its historic center as an Asset of Cultural Interest and Zuheros is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

4. Setenil de las Bodegas
When thinking of romantic getaways in Andalusia, Setenil de las Bodegas quickly comes to mind when imagining Valentine’s Day.
The slopes of the GuadalporcĂșn river gorge have made possible the creation of one of the most genuine villages of the Sierra de CĂĄdiz. In the interior of the province of Cadiz, is Setenil de las Bodegas, a surprising prehistoric enclave that hides more than one wonder.
The peculiarity of this white village is its landscape configuration. The houses are hollow between the rocky ledges and the town is arranged in the middle of a labyrinth of stone and lime, an urban stronghold fruit of geology and an imposing architecture.

5. Vejer de la Frontera
Hitting the road to travel miles in a camper is possibly the common fetish of any self-respecting traveler. A backpack with the necessities, the memory of those books of the beat generation and start the roadtrip.
Nowadays this practice is very fashionable but, beyond the trend, it is an ancestral exercise. A nomadic life (or, at least, a weekend), is a dream that allows you to explore the world without planning too much: your way.
The winding streets of Vejer, its whitewashed houses, its history or the many gastronomic offers make this inland town of Cadiz (but just a few kilometers from the sea) a must on our route, and our first stop.
Stroll around the walled enclosure, take a look at its viewpoints and photograph splendid panoramic views of the sea at your feet and do not miss its crafts and gastronomy, dotted throughout the length and breadth of the municipality.

This town of about 8000 inhabitants has several tourist attractions such as the castle, buildings by renowned Sevillian architects (AnĂbal GonzĂĄlez and the SĂĄnchez and Dalp brothers), the incredible natural park of Sierra de Aracena or one of its most acclaimed jewels: the Gruta de las Maravillas (Cave of Wonders).
In the vicinity of this inland Huelva destination you will find other romantic getaways.
Namely: Cortegana, Almonaster la Real, Niebla or AlĂĄjar. By the way, in this territory were forged some of the most popular Andalusian words and expressions that, against all odds, come from English and to which we dedicate an article.

7. Route through Almeria
Cabo de Gata refers to agate, a mineral formation that occurs inside volcanic bubbles, an etymological memory of the ancient Almeria.

Specifically, 13 extinct volcanoes whose activity ceased a million years ago.
