Although it has already been successfully staged at the Church of Saint-Eustache in Paris, the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption in Nice, and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Pi in Barcelona, all of these experiences are original and have already captivated more than two million spectators.

San Jacinto Parish Church: the living stage for LUMINISCENCE Seville
Beyond a spectacular technical display, LUMINISCENCE is a tribute in the truest sense to the architectural heritage that hosts it. On this occasion, the experience honors the Parish Church of San Jacinto, a Baroque church located in the heart of the Triana neighborhood.
In this setting, we’ll experience an event that combines video mapping technology (projected onto the ceilings and walls) with digital classical music, which—during Thursday through Saturday sessions—will be accompanied by a local choir performing masterpieces of sacred music.
The name of this show is *La Odisea Celestial* (The Celestial Odyssey), lasting about 50 minutes without intermissions. Since it’s an experience featuring high-intensity visual effects, music, and sounds, it’s not recommended for children under 2 years old, although they can enter for free if carried in the arms of a responsible adult.
The event features two versions: the Original, with digital music, and the Exceptional, featuring one of the region’s best choirs, which performs some of the masterpieces of classical and sacred music live.
The experience is complemented by a voice-over that fills the space of San Jacinto to tell us its story, because if there’s one thing the Parish of San Jacinto is known for, it’s being a witness to major historical events in the city and the countless uses it has had over the centuries.
This church, dating back to 1679 (though it was rebuilt practically from scratch after floods in 1730), houses a superb altarpiece from the Convent of La Victoria, a magnificent example of Andalusian Baroque.
It was a Dominican convent, a barracks, and a warehouse during the Napoleonic invasion; a medical facility during epidemics; the headquarters of historic religious brotherhoods; and, since 1966, it has been a parish church. Additionally, in one corner of the church stands a marble cross commemorating a very dark chapter in Seville’s history: the plague epidemic of 1649.
All these elements make the San Jacinto parish church the perfect setting for an event like LUMINISCENCE—an immersive experience that combines cutting-edge technology with the city’s history and an irresistible musical repertoire.
