The month of August in Seville, under penalty of high temperatures, results in a mass exodus to the towns and beaches of its neighbors. The afternoons are synthesized in the murmur of cicadas and until late at night the walkers are scarce, in search of shelters and shady terraces. Thus, those who stay in Seville in August see the weeks go by in a gloomy mood, with the only relief of finding leisure plans at sunset or open restaurants.
And while a large number of restaurant businesses go on vacation this month, many others open to dispense experiences without the crowds expected in other seasons.
We compile some bars, restaurants and terraces that are open this August and are ideal for tributes, special occasions and simply tapas.
1. Barra Baja

The Barra Baja team has taken their well-deserved vacation but they return this Wednesday, August 13 to offer their sensational market cuisine.
Rafa Liñán and Patricia Moliner are in charge of this space between Las Setas and Plaza del Duque that the reader should try immediately if he is looking for product and ember.
Dishes of simple appearance whose secret lies in the magic of fire and seasonings. The best news? Barra Baja is compatible with your month of August anchored in Seville.

2. Eterno

The gastronomic proposal that José Luis Pastrana conceives and executes follows the footprint of the home with lifelong recipes that look innovative.
Eterno recently settled in the Santa Cruz neighborhood and serves lunch and dinner for the good fortune of those of us who stayed in Seville this August.
A house of cuisines with dishes as unctuous as its egg yolk, stewed tomato and white shrimp bollito; its version of mantecaíto (beef sirloin steak tartar, garlic confit cream and potato millefeuille) or its surprising duck and foie rice.
Another seasonal must are its potatoes withred tuna tartar aliñásAlmadraba tuna.
An average ticket of 35 € and you will get a great meal.

3. La Casa del Tigre

La Casa del Tigre is already a reference restaurant for those who indulge in tapas with fervor while leaning towards more elevated elaborations. This space brings together both concepts in an environment where the atmosphere is also the protagonist.
Lucho Plaza is one of the partners responsible for this project in which you can grab one of the most addictive snacks in Seville: his mini brioche.
They are filled with manteca colorá emulsion and are capable of making anyone’s mind go crazy. Also, take a look at their remarkable hake salad with pickles and their taco de puchero.

4. De la O

De la O overlooks the banks of the Guadalquivir from Triana as one of the restaurants of reference in the neighborhood and one of the most peaceful terraces in the city.
Dining under the stars or having a good feast in its lounge, marked by wood and greenery, brings together the goodness you need if you stay in the city. Very good raw material and an excellent execution by Manuel Llerena.
But De la O does not dress up for the photo and we tell you why. Established more than four years ago next to the Guadalquivir, it is devoted to the cuisine of proximity, a return to tradition, taking care of seasonal products and betting on a menu that is practically gluten free.
📍 Paseo de Ntra. Sra. de la O, 29
5. Marabunda
Marabunda is one of the freshest restaurants in Seville, with international flavors and powerful flavors to stimulate the palate, which, yes, remains open in August.
A succinct menu that you can take a good look at with friends, or you can go through it a little at a time on each visit. They always have appetizing off-menu options and delicious drinks.

6. La Vicenta
From a more casual point of view without renouncing to pleasant dishes and a spacious terrace, La Vicenta is a good alternative to eat cheaply in the center of the city. One of the restaurants of the Manducare group that also opens this August in Seville.
What is its cuisine based on? Friedfish, seafood, classic tapas and some stews.
📍c/ Santa Vicenta María, 7
7. Castizo

Of all the branches of the Ovejas Negras group, Castizo is one of my favorites. We are grateful that Calle Zaragoza maintains some summer life during August and that the tapas and dishes that chef Cristóbal Rosales champions can be enjoyed unhurriedly this month.
A nice snack and very traditional dishes like his false tiramisu, the honeyed cod fritters or his turbot meunière style.
