The month of December in Seville and, therefore, also Christmas, are synonymous with reunions, unavoidable appointments and a good amount of plans around these significant dates.
In order to approach the coming weeks with the best catalog of activities, we compile in the following lines the best leisure offer in the city. Ideas to enjoy with the whole family, events that are pure Christmas and other plans that will make December one of your favorite months in Seville.
Candlelight Christmas edition
Music and Christmas go hand in hand. The houses and streets of towns and cities are filled with Christmas carols and on January 1 we attend (telematically) the New Year’s concert in Vienna. But you don’t have to wait so long or go so far away to enjoy the magic of these Christmas melodies. Candlelight designs these Christmas concerts (more and less Christmas) to delight us with the best live music. This Christmas you have a few unavoidable and very varied appointments to recover the Christmas mood that is so lacking in this twilight of 2022.
- Candlelight: Tribute to Hans Zimmer at the Fundación Tres Culturas (December 2)
- Christmas Classical Works at the Hospital de los Venerables (December 9)
- Candlelight Junior: music for children and adults (December 16)
- Tribute to Queen at the Aquarium of Seville (December 16)
- Candlelight Christmas: The best Christmas carols at Casa de Salinas (December 22)
- Tribute to ABBA at the Aquarium of Seville (December 29)
Murder Mystery
Murder Mystery is the immersive mystery experience that, after breaking the schemes of Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga and Valencia, now comes to the Casa de la Memoria in Seville . Someone has killed the famous flamenco singer Carmen García in her own dressing room. Next to the corpse, the trophy she won in her first singing contest… who is the murderer or murderess? Who is the murderer or murderess? Why? Solving these doubts will be your goal: you can walk through the different rooms of the House of Memory looking for clues, interrogating suspects, analyzing the crime scene… Do you dare?

3. Switching on the Christmas lights
That avenue of the Constitution crowded, huge amount of elevated cell phones ready to shoot the photo after the countdown is an image that we can not enjoy this year. In any case, Christmas will kick off with the traditional lighting, which in Seville takes place this year on December 2.
4. A whole compilation of Christmas plans
The cultural agenda is stirring in the face of the immediate flurry of activities and Christmas plans in Seville this 2023/24. The city shines with its own light on these dates so we have seen fit to bring together all these options that are open to us. Ice rinks, Christmas markets, amusement parks and much more.
5. Antique Book Fair
Unique, out-of-print or hard-to-find books, movie posters, posters, manuscripts or other collector’s publications. These and other items and a whole cultural program will meet at the Seville Antique Book Fair, one of the most important old book events in Andalusia.
The fair is organized by the Asociación Amigos del Libro Antiguo de Sevilla in collaboration with the Instituto de la Cultura y las Artes de Sevilla (ICAS). This year celebrates its 45th edition in the Plaza Nueva and brings together, until December 9, the most important old bookstores in the country.
6. Electrolunch
The promoter Rocknrolla Producciones in collaboration with Torre Sevilla presents a new edition of Electrolunch. The event will take place on Saturday, December 2 at Magallanes Park, next to the iconic Sevillian skyscraper. After multiple editions in various locations in Andalusia, Electrolunch grows and recovers its new XXL format.
For this occasion it returns to Magallanes Park next to Torre Sevilla, a unique and exclusive venue to accommodate this new concept. After the success of its previous edition, with an attendance of more than 15,000 people, an event with several new features is expected.
7. Sevilla Burger League
Finding the ultimate burgers in Seville. This is the task pursued by Sevilla Burger League, the gastronomic championship created by Pablo Mora (@elcomilonas in social networks) that lands in the city to find the best in town.
An event that will run until December 15 and looking for the best in two different leagues. A jury of gastronomy experts, nutritionists, influencers and culinary critics will award the prize in two categories: smash cooking technique and medallion cooking technique.
8. Christmas markets
Christmas markets in Seville conquer the avenues, squares and spaces that the city has prepared for the occasion. The city is decorated and receives the Christmas leisure full of novelties and without restrictions. The event will not miss the lighting, themed parks or ice rinks. An endless number of guaranteed plans among which stand out the picturesque Christmas markets, some of which are detailed below.
9. Christmas Ice Rinks (tbc 2023)
One of the Christmas plans that can never be missed is ice skating. In addition to moving the mantecados and making room for the next meal, skating also allows you to bring out your artistic streak. For all those who want to participate in one of the quintessential Christmas activities, these are the ice skating rinks that there are this year in Seville.
10. Musicals this season
As for musicals, less frequent in the city until the last few years, Seville has an ever-increasing agenda of musicals. The traditional ones, full of fantasy or to be enjoyed with children. Theaters that harmonize with catchy melodies, avant-garde productions and, in short, shows that make the wonders of nightlife in the city.
11. Perfect restaurants for Christmas lunches and dinners
December awaits and with it come the crowded stores, the turrones and mantecados and the center of Seville flooded with Christmas lights. But it is a month that also brings with it the eternal doubt: where to have Christmas dinner?
12. Panettone season in Manu Jara
One more year, the pastry chef Manu Jara takes advantage of the sunset of October to start the season of panettone, a sweet bread of Italian origin that in recent seasons has been a sensation among the public of Seville and visitors.
With a very complex elaboration process, between dough resting and fermentation, panettone is a complex elaboration with the result of a cottony and light crumb.
13. Movie premieres
The highly anticipated Wonka, starring Thimotée Chalamet, on December 6, Ocho apellidos marroquís (December 1) or Anatomía de una caída (December 6), which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes. Other releases are expected in the second half of the month, such as Golda (December 15) or Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 20). These and many other titles can be enjoyed at Yelmo Cinemas through Fever, spaces for true movie lovers.
14. Andalusian villages straight out of a fairy tale
Andalusia keeps in its extension landscapes, villages and monuments of extraordinary beauty. Some enjoy the fame they deserve, many retain the surprise factor despite appearing on the podiums of the guidebooks and others remain closely guarded secrets.
The splendor of this land does not take the traveler unawares and synthesizes gastronomy, nature and heritage in each of its destinations. In this case, far from being rural mirages, we compile 5 unique jewels, Andalusian villages that seem to be taken (some literally) from a fairy tale.

16. Arcade Planet: 4 hours of video games from the 80’s
Arcade Planet was born from the passion of five collectors of retro video games, who have been bringing the universe of the arcade machines of the 80s to Dos Hermanas for six years. And in this sense, they have created almost without realizing it, the largest video game show in Spain and one of the most important in Europe in the Sevillian municipality.
