A spectacular immersive experience is about to arrive in Seville: EVEREST, The First Ascent. It will take place at Eclipso Cultural Adventures (c/Mirador, 1) and will take us on an exploration of the Himalayas all the way to the summit of Mount Everest through virtual reality. EVEREST, The First Ascent will premiere on the same day in other locations, such as Barcelona and several European cities. This will be its world premiere, which has been preceded by its screening at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it was one of the nominees in the Venice Immersive section, which showcased the most innovative immersive works.

What can we expect from EVEREST: The First Ascent?
EVEREST, The First Ascent tells the story of one of the most thrilling adventures of the 20th century—the one that led Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to become the first climbers to reach the summit of Everest, the world’s highest peak (8,849 meters). Thanks to virtual reality headsets with built-in sound, we, too, will witness the event, accompanying the explorers.
The virtual journey will take us through the Himalayan mountain range, visiting its landscapes, small villages, the majesty of Kathmandu and its temples, and, of course, the snow-capped mountains, all with the goal of reaching the summit.
But the road to glory won’t be easy. Just like the original expedition, there will be no shortage of setbacks, which in this experience will take the form of inclement weather, treacherous trails, and other challenges. Here’s a spoiler you probably already know: the story had a happy ending—and so will ours—as we’ll culminate by enjoying spectacular views of Mount Everest.
EVEREST, The First Ascent joins the family of immersive experiences available at the ECLIPSO center in Seville, which currently features Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, a journey to the International Space Station. Its blend of fun and education makes it perfect for all audiences, though it’s especially recommended for ages 8 and up.
