EVEREST, The First Ascent premiered on the same day in other locations, such as Barcelona and several European cities. This marks its world premiere following its screening at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it was nominated in the Venice Immersive section, which showcases the most innovative immersive works. At the festival, it received excellent reviews from critics and audiences alike.

What can we expect from EVEREST, The First Ascent?
EVEREST, The First Ascent tells the story of one of the most thrilling adventures of the 20th century—the one that led Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to become the first climbers to reach the summit of Everest, the world’s highest peak (8,848 meters). Thanks to virtual reality headsets with built-in sound, we, too, will witness the event, accompanying the explorers.
The virtual journey will begin in Kathmandu, following the route through the Himalayan landscapes, with strategic stops at the base camps. There will be an exciting visit to the beautiful Tengboche Monastery (located at an altitude of 3,867 meters) and other surprises until finally reaching the summit of Everest.
But the road to glory won’t be easy. Just like the original expedition, there will be no shortage of setbacks, which in this experience will take the form of inclement weather, treacherous terrain, and other challenges, such as altitude sickness. Here’s a spoiler you probably already know: the story ended well—and so will ours, as we’ll culminate by enjoying spectacular views of Mount Everest.
While the main protagonists are Tenzing Norgay (who, in addition to being a Sherpa, serves as our narrator throughout the experience) and Edmund Hillary, EVEREST, The First Ascent also features John Hunt, the leader of the 1953 expedition, as well as other teammates who came very close to reaching the summit (since the Norgay-Hillary duo were not, initially, the ones intended to carry out the feat).
This entire experience, lasting about 35 minutes, features impressive technical and artistic elements that immerse us very realistically in the action, as well as the option to choose between Spanish and English voiceovers. To ensure its historical, cultural, and human accuracy
EVEREST, The First Ascent joins the family of immersive experiences available at the ECLIPSO center in Seville, which currently features Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, a journey to the International Space Station. Its blend of fun and education makes it perfect for all audiences, though it is especially recommended for children ages 8 and up.
