We grant Seville many gastronomic virtues among which is not to prepare the best paella in the country. Far from it. However, the city has some bastions that will make you feel like in Valencia itself. There are not many and some of them take some licenses (we excuse them).
Actually, there is only one paella, but rice dishes abound and, like people, there are all kinds. Those where the protagonist is the vegetable, the one that incorporates among its ingredients a succulent chorizo, combinations sea and mountain or broth proposals preferably facing the sea.
As far as paellas are concerned (the purely Valencian ones) in Seville they are prepared in a few places that we reveal below. Others, not in vain, prepare such good rice dishes that we have seen fit to include in this list.
La Paella Seville
La Paella’s delicacies have nothing to envy to the classic Sunday rice you prepare at home. You have the authentic Valencian paella, or Iberian, seafood, black rice or a banda and fideuá without leaving Seville or approaching the sea.

Otaola Restaurant
In terms of rice, the Porvenir neighborhood has something to tell us. Otaola is a gastronomic jewel specialized, of course, in rice dishes and paellas. Their quality is no secret and here they elaborate up to 30 different varieties. Among its gastronomic proposal also stand out its fried fish or its “papas aliñás”.
📍 Porvenir Market (c/ Salvador, 18)
Albufera Rice Bar
The consistency of the rice and its flavor, its artisanal preparation and the purely Valencian style make L’Albufera a more than ideal place to try a paella in Seville. In addition, you can go to their restaurant or order their rice dishes to take away. You can choose from more than 20 kinds and orders are made for at least 2 people.
📍 c/ Corbeta, 5 b
Criaito Rice Restaurant
Don’t be impressed by its menu with 40 types of dry rice dishes in paellas, caldosos and fideuá. The Sanlúcar-born David Hidalgo is in charge of Criaito, a place to taste exquisite rice dishes whose preparation you can appreciate live through the glass that separates the living room from the kitchen.
📍 Altozano Square
A Banda Restaurant
In the Triana Market hides another of the must-try in Seville when it comes to tasting a good rice. In this restaurant you will find dry rice in paella, mellow rice, fideuás and a good assortment of starters, meats and fish. They prepare them in many different ways and one of our favorites is the cheeks.
