February is the month when we’ve recovered from the previous month’s expenses and finally have a little more money in our wallets to go out and about.
But it’s also the month of lovers, when it’s scary to walk down Sierpes and Tetuán streets avoiding Cupids and their 2-for-1 promotions on underwear. It’s okay. One step forward, one step back. The important thing is that now that you’ve made it through January, Seville has some fantastic plans in store for you in February 2023.

Following the success of previous editions of Candlelight, February is shaping up to be incredible thanks to this exquisite selection of concerts in incomparable venues. Throughout the month, you have several unmissable musical events, always brought to you by Candlelight. We’ll give you the details below.

Seville Marathon

At the end of January, theSeville Half Marathonattracted 20,000 athletes, andthe 41st edition of the Zurich Marathon will attract just as many runners to the Andalusian capital on February 15, 2026.

Famous voices, chamber music, jazz, and many other genres are coming to the city this month. Among them are Amaia, Mikel Izal, Taburete, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Teatro de la Maestranza.

This month , the Royal Artillery Factory is launching ‘Artillera’, an ambitious project by Seville City Council to consolidate the city as an “artistic benchmark in southern Europe.” Coordinated by the Department of Tourism and Culture and produced by David Linde, the cycle seeks to connect local creators with the most avant-garde national trends.
On February 22, sound artist Enrique del Castillo will premiereUmbráfono, an investigation of optical sound based on celluloid, light, and analog devices.
When diners flock to Seville’s abundant restaurants, logic prevails: it’s time to treat yourself to a gastronomic getaway near Seville.

Electrolunch XXL, Seville’s big outdoor electronic music festival, has announced the dates for the rest of the season.
12 hours of music, workshops, a space for children, crafts, and food trucks. This February, it will hold its monthly event on Saturday the 7th.

Zoco de la Puerta de la Carne

Plaza Bomberos del Toro y Rivero is hosting the second editionof the Nervión district souk this Saturday, February 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.After the success of its first editions, this market is returning to the vicinity of Puerta de la Carne, with around 30 local brands participating.

Three Goodbyes (February 6), the new film by Isabel Coixet; Wuthering Heights (February 13) and The Secret Agent (February 20) will be hitting the big screen this February. Once we’re past the halfway point, more films are expected in the run-up to the Goya and Oscar awards.

Carnival in Seville 2026

There is life beyond the centenary Carnival of Cádiz (although we’ll also tell you how to attend this event), and Seville has a handful of picturesque plans in store that are pure Carnival. Although the full program is not yet known, we have compiled all the information available to date.

Stroll through the center of Seville and discover the events that shook its inhabitants. You’ll learn a little more about the great history of the Santa Cruz neighborhood. A guide will tell you about the events involving Romans, Arabs, Jews, and Christians, as well as some mysteries and ghosts. Fifteen stops and an interpretation of the history of Seville.

This museum is the brainchild of flamenco dancer Cristina Hoyos. Here you can see the classic posters for these events, the high heels that are worn, and the decorations on flamenco dresses. They offer several shows in their iconic courtyard and century-old vaulted ceiling, which last around an hour. An intimate experience in an authentic setting.

There is no doubt that the major capitals get most of the filming, but it is often in the most remote places, and especially on the small screen, that big hits are made. And it comes as no surprise to anyone that Seville is the muse for the filming of major productions. The content, of course, is growing all the time.

The Palacio de las Dueñas is a large residence built at the end of the 15th century. Marvel at this Renaissance-style house that has seen poets, artists, and other important figures throughout history. Even Queen Victoria Eugenia enjoyed a stroll through its corridors back in 1920.
