This month, the Real Fábrica de Artillería is premiering ‘Artillera’, an ambitious project by Seville City Council to consolidate the city as “an artistic benchmark in southern Europe.” Coordinated by the Department of Tourism and Culture and produced by David Linde, the cycle seeks to connect local creators with the most avant-garde national trends.
The program, focused on the living arts—dance, experimental music, and performance—will feature figures such as National Dance Award winners Rocío Molina and Guillermo Weickert, who will present exclusive pieces.
- The calendar kicks off on January 25 with Severine Beata’s sound experimentation.
- On February 22, sound artist Enrique del Castillo will premiere Umbráfono, an investigation of optical sound using celluloid, light, and analog devices.
- On April 19, an exclusive project by Guillermo Weickert will be presented.
- Ainara LeGardón will premiere Pausar pulsa on May 24, which explores sound perception from an experimental perspective.
- The cycle will close on June 7 with a day that will include the premiere of Las herederas (La Decadensia, directed by Carlota Berzal and María Cazenave), Las vecinas. Sillas y cómo me siento (Eva Escudier) and El pintor y la modelo (Roberto Martínez), as well as an exclusive project by Rocío Molina.
The events will mainly take place on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and will include free workshops to bring art closer to the public.
