Eating well, in generous quantities and without sacrificing minimum quality is almost a chimera in times when the substantial increase in prices in restaurants abounds. Seville does not escape this trend and only some of its bastions resist the genetics of inflation. La Choza de Manuela, fortunately, is one of them.
It is thankful that, along with the list of starred, Soles and other distinctions of rigor, Seville and province can champion the cuisine of terroir. Meeting at this restaurant continues to gather hundreds of diners as one of the Sunday plans par excellence. Good luck to those who find a place first without joining the impatient queues.
And it is that not even the plates are exempt. The Repsol Guide recognizes with a Solete to this restaurant that dispenses some of the cheapest plates of the country.
What and for how much you eat at La choza de Manuela
La choza de Manuela is where it always is. Bormujos houses, at kilometer 6 of the A-474, this very large restaurant that has been standing since 1996.
If you have arrived here without having visited this place, you should know that they are devoted to the embers, with a grill in full operation during the whole service.
The aesthetics remain unchanged over the years. A homey atmosphere that can be felt in any of its lounges and terraces.
Its menu is not a sophism, as we already warned. But to find dressings, tapas and even stews that with difficulty exceed 4 € surprises as much as it anticipates good reasons to move to the Aljarafe.
Classics such as sirloin steak with whiskey can be consumed in just 5 €. Flamenquín cordobés, sardines or chickpeas with prawns do the same.
To find dishes that exceed 6 euros you have to go to the meats whose prices, otherwise, remain staggering. A churrasco (steak) for 7 euros, the entrecote is 9 euros and the entrecote of Argentinian steer is only 14 euros.
The premium meats (Angus, Friesian, Retinto, Galician and Wagyu) range from 18 to 60 euros.
They also serve a good amount of fish, some scrambled eggs and quite a few desserts, all of them at a single price of 3 €.
In short, La choza de Manuela is not a boast of anything. Except, perhaps, to continue the tradition of meeting to eat without putting a strain on the pocket.
