There are a handful of intangible reasons to get to know a city in depth. Getting lost in the streets, admiring facades and small squares, discovering the secrets of its gastronomy. And there are many others related to its heritage. This is not an article that addresses any of them. Instead, we propose a route through a few essential art galleries in Seville.
Because contemporary art, far from being a break with technique or craft, brings different perspectives and new challenging concepts. In addition, they add value to Seville, one more place in its cultural agenda.
We invite the reader to get rid of prejudices, of the fear of not understanding or not knowing how to appreciate and surrender to the cultural opportunities that these spaces offer us. Take note and enjoy art with this route.
Zunino Gallery
Anabel Zunino is the director of this art gallery that started in early 2015 and whose main objective is to bring the work of artists closer to the viewer. Weber-Lutgen
The Luxembourger Ed. M. A. Weger opened the doors of this gallery in the vicinity of the Feria neighborhood in June 2007. He did it under the following premise: to bet on a plastic renovation through his vision and to show the avant-garde in the city.
It could not be installed in a better location than the bohemian neighborhood adjacent to the Alameda. Weber-Lutgen specializes in unconventional formats such as installation, video or action art. Risky, on the edge of experimentation but very worthy of a visit.
