The autumn begins to mark territory in Seville and not only because the temperatures begin to drop but because the cultural offer in the city has abruptly skyrocketed. Referring to practical examples, will soon begin the Biennial of Flamenco, the Antique Book Fair and Occasion, various comedy events or the Open Gallery.
This event, devoted to bringing contemporary art and its creators closer to the general public, will hold its 2024 edition from October 3 to 5. Several private spaces in Seville will take part in these three open days, which will include guided tours, round tables and concerts, among other events.
The Association of Art Galleries of Seville (AGAS) launched this initiative in 2017, when Open Gallery began its journey. A sort of dialogue between breeders, their pieces, social agents from the public and private sector as well as the general public that was already happening in cities like Madrid or Barcelona.
This 2024, however, it is the City Council of Seville, through ICAS, the ultimate responsible for this appointment in which other galleries that are not part of AGAS will participate for the first time. Namely: Alarcon Criado, Birimbao, Delimbo, Espacio Olvera, Felix Gomez, Haurie, Rafael Ortiz and Weber-Lutgen.
Thursday, October 3 will start with an exhibition at Espacio Santa Clara. An exhibition that will kick off this event and will bring together artists from all the galleries.
What does Open Gallery have to offer?
Beyond the obvious social agitation that these open days will arouse, the AGAS has scheduled a round table with personalities such as Manuel Segade, director of the Reina Sofia Museum. In addition, both galleries will open exceptionally in the mornings and afternoons and will host tours and guided visits, all of them free of charge.
In addition to the contribution of the Association and the galleries participating in the event, other cultural spaces such as the Cajasol Foundation, the CAAC, the Valentín de Madariaga Foundation, the Triana Ceramics Center, ICAS and the Atín Aya Hall, and the CICUS will also take part in the event.
