1. Living Nativity Scene of Sanlúcar la Mayor
The one in Sanlúcar la Mayor is possibly one of the most talked-about living nativity scenes in the country. And transcend beyond Andalusia has a merit that so note those who drop by this traditional visual spectacle. An imposing set with rivers, waterfalls and bridges recreated in detail and more than 400 extras ready to integrate into the various scenes.
From the arrival of the Three Wise Men to the fields of Judea, an incredible staging harmonized with popular Christmas carols that this year 2023 can be enjoyed on December 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17. Specifically, the visiting hours will be from 16:30 to 20:30 hours. As for tickets, they can be purchased online (via Facebook) or through local businesses for 3 euros.
2. ‘Bethlehem of Nazareth’ of Santiponce
Santiponce’s Belén Viviente has the power to take us directly to Nazareth. Its ‘Bethlehem of the Nazarene’ is celebrated on December 21 and 22. A deep-rooted tradition that meticulously recreates this biblical setting in the imposing city of Italica.
The Cerro del conjunto will host this event in which 250 extras will participate. Specifically, it will be represented in schedule from 18:00 to 21:00 hours whose tickets can already be purchased (until December 18) through the number 697 725 342.
3. ‘It happened in Bethlehem’, in Alcala del Rio
The oldest living nativity scene in the province is that of Alcalá del Río, which already has 28 editions. This 2024 will take place from December 13 to 15 under the organization of the Brotherhood of Soledad.
The historic center of this Sevillian town will emulate the cities of Nazareth and Bethlehem over more than 8,000 square meters.
Eight scenes ranging from the Annunciation to the adoration of the Magi in which more than 500 residents of Alcalá will take part.
4. Living Nativity Scene in Castillo de las Guardas
The Castillo de las Guardas is another of the most popular living nativity scenes in the province of Seville. In this case it celebrates its XXI edition in the viewpoint of the town. An iconic backdrop for participants, animals and scenery to give life to this scene.
When can you visit this living nativity scene?
- On December 14 in the afternoon, from 17:30 to 19:30 hours.
- On December 15 and 22 it will be open only in the mornings, from 12:30 to 14:00 hours.
- Full day for December 21 and 28, morning and afternoon hours.
- On Christmas Day (December 25), December 28 and 29, it will be open in the afternoon, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Regarding tickets, the price to access this recreation is 2 € and there will be a bar available to liven up the wait.
5. Gelves
On 14 and 15 December Gelves will do the same hand in hand with the Brotherhood of Grace. An experience that is condensed into 16 dramatized scenes and a guided tour that will last around 40 minutes.
For this XIII edition have the participation of more than 75 people, mostly children. Specifically, it can be visited from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00 hours each day (and at a price of 2.50 euros), which promise to transport visitors to another time.
