As much as we like to have studied in Cartuja, Viapol or the Rectorado, there is no better campus than Reina Mercedes.
Everything is adapted for those who study there: the prices of the apartments, the bars, the copy shops, etc. We already recommended the best bars for tapas in Triana and Los Remedios, so today we bring you the best places for tapas in the student neighborhood of Reina Mercedes and Heliopolis:
Bar Bronce
It is a very small place, but it has an outdoor terrace. They serve beer very well and have dishes like the cheeks or chickpeas with prawns, which are tremendous, but what I really love are their anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea. So if you want to eat some home cooking in the neighborhood, this is the best choice you can make. Reina Mercedes Avenue, 15
Here I stay
It is a fairly inexpensive bar for the things they offer. They have a terrace and serve a very good bull tail with a delicious sauce. In season there are snails and cabrillas and they serve a very tasty pescaíto frito (fried fish). We recommend you to try the house specialty which is the sirloin steak Aquí me quedo, which accompanied by kidneys in sherry is a delicacy. By the way, the desserts are homemade, so leave a space reserved. Reina Mercedes Avenue, s/n
Avelino
Here you will have a great time if you love Seville’s patatas alioli (aioli potatoes). It is one of the best known bars in the neighborhood of Heliopolis. Our favorite dish is the breast with bechamel. It is located in a pleasant square, in which it is luxurious in summer. Although if you want tranquility we do not recommend you to go on Sundays when Real Betis is playing at the Benito Villamarín. Plaza de los Andes, 1
La Pitarra Heliopolis
The best thing to do in this place is to order several portions to share. The best dishes are the meats (the beef sirloin is spectacular), but the cheese au gratin with sugar cane honey, the Burgos blood sausage with cream cheese or the rice with partridge are not bad either. c/ Pava, 1
El Rincón de Manolo
The tapas are generous, have a very correct presentation and the price is good. What we like most is the cheeks and foie gras salad, although if you have any doubts, ask the waiters, who are quite friendly and give good advice. Avda. del Padre García Tejero
Cafeteria Cervecería El 37
We got to know this place through a recommendation, which we were very grateful for, as it is a nice place with cheap, abundant and best of all: quite tasty food. The decoration is curious because it imitates a library. The food is not out of the ordinary, but we loved the homemade meatballs and the house specialty: stuffed mushrooms. c / Guadalimar, 8
