The French railway company, Ouigo, finally lands in Seville on January 16, specifying on this date the premiere of the Seville – Madrid route. In February 2024 they announced that its launch would take place after the summer, although it will be at the beginning of 2025 when, in fact, these low-cost trains will start operating between the two cities.
Federico Pareja, commercial and marketing director of Ouigo Spain announced all the news related to this new connection at an event that took place at Santa Justa station in early December.
Specifically, 6 daily services will be established between Seville and Madrid, with the usual stop at Cordoba Central. Both trips will be available from January 16, although tickets at 9 euros can already be purchased on its website.
As indicated by its pricing policy, tickets are already on sale from 9 €. In addition, they have a reduced flat rate for children of 7 euros.
Timetables of the Seville – Madrid route with Ouigo
The tickets, which have already gone on sale on the website of Ouigo include the following departure times.
- From Madrid they will depart at 7:40, 15:14 and 17:37.
- The Seville – Madrid route will have departures at 7:38 am, 11:14 am and 7:44 pm.
Ouigo began operating in Spain in 2021 on the Madrid-Barcelona corridor. Since then it has done nothing but expand its connections and incorporate new destinations to its catalog, always under the banner of low prices.
With tickets from 9 euros, Ouigo becomes Renfe’s second competitor in Andalusia, after the incorporation of Iryo last year.
OUIGO will connect Seville, Cordoba and Malaga directly with Madrid Atocha at a price starting at 9 euros per ticket.
