In contrast to the excitement surrounding the Michelin gala and the star awards, the restaurants recommended by the guide—though somewhat removed from the spotlight— reflect the reputation of their kitchens. The plaques certifying the quality of the 2026 Michelin Guide have already been awarded: 88 Andalusian restaurants and 14 must-visit spots in Seville.
The event took place at the Edgar Neville Auditorium in Málaga, which hosted more than 200 industry representatives, including restaurant owners and members of professional associations.
The event is part of the tour that CaixaBank is conducting across different regions of the country to present the plaques certifying the restaurants recommended by the 2026 Michelin Guide.

For his part, CaixaBank’s regional director in Andalusia, Juan Ignacio Zafra, highlighted the dynamism of Andalusian gastronomy, which has a “significant impact on the region’s economy, culture, and tourism.”
