The Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art (CAAC) kicks off the third edition of its free series ‘Dance at the CAAC’. Coinciding with March 8, International Women’s Day, the museum opens its doors free of charge to enjoy two contemporary dance pieces created by women who are breaking the mold on the current scene.
This series, curated by María González, has established itself as one of the freshest initiatives of the Regional Ministry of Culture and Sport, connecting the historic spaces of the monastery with the most avant-garde languages of the body.
A date with contemporary dance this March 8
The event will take place this Sunday, March 8, at 12:00 noon. Admission is free until capacity is reached, so we recommend arriving early at the Cartuja monumental complex.
The program: two pieces you can’t miss
The season premiere features a double program starring the talent of great creators from our region:
-
‘Montar un cuerpo’ (La Triangular).Andrea Muñoz López and Paula Campos Ruiz present a 20-minute piece that explores play, obedience, and insubordination. A physical reflection on the rules that govern our movements. The work presents two bodies that simultaneously receive and generate orders while playing.
-
‘Perseidas’ (2Proposiciones Danza-Teatro). The veteran Seville-based company led by Raquel Madrid brings us a kinetic and energetic performance. Performed by Anna París, Sandra Ortega, and Madrid herself, the work is a visual journey into the brilliance of collective work. The company has a powerful international track record, having taken the name of Seville to stages in China, New York, and Korea.
Calendar of ‘Dance at the CAAC’ 2026
With this new cycle, the CAAC renews its commitment to new choreographic languages and Andalusian creation, promoting dialogue between dance and the museum’s historical spaces.
‘Dance at the CAAC’ pays special attention to Andalusian choreographic creators, both those who develop their work in the community and those who do so outside it, without ruling out proposals from other geographical contexts.
If you can’t attend this Sunday, make a note of the upcoming dates. The ‘Dance at the CAAC’ cycle will be held every second Sunday of the month (except in summer) at 12 noon and will offer two pieces in different spaces within the complex.
- Spring series: April 12 and May 10.
- Fall Series: September 13, October 11, and November 8.
