3. Nougat in Los Valencianos 1946
We attended the fourth generation of these masters of nougat that are Los Valencianos 1946. Morón de la Frontera can celebrate this business dedicated to ice cream, nougat and other handmade varieties especially for Christmas, such as polvorones and marzipan.
You will have to go to this town in the province of Seville to taste some of its limited production proposals.
The most popular Christmas sweets are soft nougat or Jijona, and hard nougat or Alicante. But the added value is undoubtedly provided by their exclusive stone-baked nougat with cinnamon and lemon hints.
It is made in the most traditional way by crushing the almonds in two stone grinders. The chocolates and almonds filled with nougat are another of the claims of this family.

4. Mantecados and other Christmas sweets from La Despensa de Palacio.
Another sweet of Christmas are the mantecados, with Estepa as undisputed cradle. These and their twinned polvorones abound in the stores of this Sevillian municipality where, in addition, you will find other seasonal treasures.
To be more specific, we recommend La Despensa de Palacio, which, having an establishment in the city of Seville, facilitates the acquisition of many of these flavors with tradition.
This bakery from Estepeño finds its origins in 1743. Antonio Santaella began to serve the Marquis of Estepa and for him he elaborated several products. Hence the name “de palacio”.
The traditional pastry family has been committed to the trade ever since, growing and offering exquisite truffles, chocolate bars, cookies, trunks and dozens of delicious treats.
Estepa has the popular Chocolate Museum and in Seville, fortunately, they have a charming store. At the corner of Villegas and Francos streets we can buy any of their products. The mantecados, in all their variants, are the star product.
