From the 12th of june with some months of delay, Tussam admits payment by bank card inside the buses of Seville. This is an advance that had already been implemented in the subway or in the bus that connects to the airport, although it remained to be seen when it would be applied to the rest of the lines.
In any case, public transport users will only be able to pay by card the price of a normal ticket (1.40 €), without the possibility for the moment of applying the bonobús discount. To make the payment, the traveler will have to approach his card in the machine with the indicative “Visa”.
Although the initial deadlines set January as the date for incorporating this service, it has finally been implemented in Seville. A delay that they blame on the complexity of the installation and the celebration of Easter and Feria.
how do the Tussam card payment machines work?
The system is simple. Each single ticket must be validated at the machine in question and the driver is not required to give any ticket to the citizen. The correct payment will be a sound followed on the screen by “EMV validation” (Europay Mastercard Visa). Otherwise, it will emit a triple beep and an error message.
Indra, Inetum and Caixabank are behind this project together with the Seville City Council, which aims to improve mobility in the city.
