Beyond the framework of Jerez, the Sierra de Montilla or the spectacular landscape of vineyards in the Contraviesa alpujarreña (otherwise, the highest in Europe), Seville can boast of developing one of its best kept secrets: the must aljarafeño of Bodegas Salado.
Every autumn, a native grape variety (Garrido fino) is harvested on the Las Yeguas estate, responsible for producing this traditional must, which is now a Sevillian identity. The result is a fresh and light wine ideal to accompany long after-dinner meals.
Around this jewel of the province Bodegas Salado will host on November 9 the Fiesta del Mosto, an event that has been celebrated every autumn since 1970.
Must Festival: workshops and guided tours
The day will start at 10:30 am with a wine tasting workshop for 35 €, led by a team of winemakers from the winery. It will be followed by a guided tour, which includes a gastronomic experience at 12:00 noon for 25 €. The price if both activities are booked is €55 per person.
Throughout the event, local products such as Iberian cured meats, sheep cheese, olives and other traditional delicacies will be available for tasting.
An ideal occasion to come in a group or as a couple and discover the heart of the Aljarafe and this event that happens once a year. Those interested can reserve their place by emailing enoturismo@bodegassalado.com.
