Makingplans with kids in Seville during the summer naturally leads us to think of water parks, swimming pools, and nearby beaches. However, even though it can be difficult to find alternatives that don’t involve water exclusively, Seville has plenty of options for the little ones.
As part of its “Circuito 107” program, the Seville Provincial Council is filling the town squares and cultural centers of five municipalities this week with theater, comedy, and magic shows designed for the whole family.
If you’re looking for a unique getaway in the province or live near these regions, be sure to mark these must-see events on your calendar:
- ‘El dientecillo valiente’ in Algámitas: The theater company Los primos de Píter takes the stage at the Casa de la Cultura with this family-friendly play full of humor and imagination on August 10 at 8:00 p.m.
- ‘Slapstick’ in Isla Mayor: actor and clown Yeyo Guerrero brings his acclaimed physical comedy and visual arts show to the town’s streets. Thursday, August 13, at 8:30 p.m.
- The plaza in front of the church in Villanueva de San Juan is hosting an outdoor performance designed for the enjoyment of both adults and children: circus and magic by Los Hermanos Moreno and their show “Ale-Hop.”
- Las Navas de la Concepción. The performing arts are taking over this mountain town with intimate, community-focused events. Its Plaza de España will host flamenco singer Laura Román for her recital “Compás de dos sangres” on August 13 at 10:00 p.m.
- Villamanrique de la Condesa: a week-ending celebration of pure theater that connects local heritage with live performing arts. The town’s Plaza de España will host a concert of processional marches, pasodobles, and pasacalles performed by the Albaida de Aljarafe Philharmonic Society.
