Fruit stands and grocery stores, cafés, bars, and bakeries make up the fabric of neighborhoods. And bakeries, in particular, fuel our mornings and offer ways to elevate your breakfast. It’s therefore essential to find one you can trust.
The good news is that the map of great bread is expanding in Seville. Alongside La Esencia in El Porvenir and Asunción; Domi Vélez in the city center, Nervión, and Los Remedios; Ángel Puchi in El Arenal; and Bigas in Triana , residents between San Pablo and Macarena can celebrate the opening of Tahona La Casa del Pan.
The new bakery will open its doors in the coming weeks of August at 2 Carretera de Carmona. Led by master baker Salvador Márquez from La Algaba, the company is taking a firm step forward in its expansion following the success achieved in La Algaba and its popular shop in La Buhaira.
La Tahona Opens a New Bakery
The choice of Carretera de Carmona is no coincidence. Located just a few meters from the Ronda de Capuchinos, the Arroyo neighborhood, and the Santa Justa train station, this grand avenue has established itself as one of the most vibrant and promising thoroughfares in Seville.
It’s a unique location: it combines the constant bustle just a stone’s throw from downtown with the warmth and traditional commercial character of the neighborhood.
What can you try on Carretera de Carmona?
The concept will uphold the philosophy of this bakery: high-quality flours, slow fermentation, and a deep respect for traditional recipes.
Traditional breads, ranging from classic hallullas, buckwheat bread, white rolls, and pan prieto to their popular pan preñaos.
In addition to its selection of traditional breads, the shop will offer other bread-related items such as olive oils, jams, breadsticks, gluten-free regañás, and some sweet treats. These include its irresistible Chatocao, croissants, and the Tarta de Santiago.
As they’ve already announced on social media, they’re setting up shop on Carretera de Carmona, but “we’re not new—we’re the fifth generation.”
