The opening of the Reales Atarazanas de Sevilla is causing great excitement in the city since it was announced that the medieval shipyard would open its doors in 2026. In the meantime, they will be open to the public free of charge and for a limited time from October 23 to November 2.
11 open days to tour the restored and preserved spaces by the architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra.
The idea of the project is to adapt the heritage complex to the 21st century, providing it with cultural possibilities.
According to the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, throughout the two days, visitors will walk along a delimited itinerary in order to ensure safety and “understand the historical and architectural value of the monument”.
Visiting hours of the Atarazanas of Seville
More than 8,000 square meters that in a few months will be open to visitors and that will make the historic shipyards “a multipurpose space that will host cultural visits, exhibitions and educational activities that will contribute to revitalize the cultural axis that links the historic center with the Guadalquivir River”.
Regarding the upcoming visits, they will take place from 9:00 to 18:00 hours (the last visit will take place at 17:15 hours) and it will not be necessary to book in advance.
The rehabilitation of the Reales Atarazanas of Seville is the responsibility of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, concessionaire of the space and the Junta de Andalucía. For its part, Fundación Cajasol will subsequently assume its cultural and museum management.
