It seems an inherent hallmark of Sevillian bars to dispense cold beers all four seasons of the year. In addition to the omnipresent Cruzcampo, there are other venerated firms that would not organize such brewing liturgies without a worthy draft. Under the premise of elevating this art and sharing a lively Sunday, the II Seville Beer Pulling Contest was held at Bar Moraleja Nervión.
In the picturesque Plaza Pintor Amalio García del Moral hosted this second edition with the participation of sixteen bars, one of them from the province of Huelva.
The competition valued cleanliness and presentation in what refers to throw a cortá as well as the launching and sliding of beer, the shooter at the end of the bar.
Best beer puller in Seville
From the championship it emerged that Moraleja Nervión itself is the bar with the best beer pulling in Seville. The guys from Sevilla Tapital, Reyes Calvillo (Canal Sur), José Antonio de Jiménez (Selección de Vinos) and Fernando (Grupo Moraleja) were the jury in charge of evaluating the participants.
Specifically, it was Gema Mora, representative of Moraleja Nervión, who won the prize, which consisted of the participant’s weight in beer. She was followed by Bar Julio César (4th place), Restaurante Amara (3rd place), and Bar Disparate de Islantilla (2nd place).
Also, the event included the amateur contest that faced 25 attendees, with Asun Cabral at the head.
The Moraleja Nervión proposal
It is no secret the concept that runs through this group, that timeless costumbrismo of which they make flag. A very jovial atmosphere in its two premises and a gastronomic proposal capable of combining tradition and contemporary gestures without renouncing to adjusted prices.
In this little bar in Nervión you can start with some pintxos or go for its laterío. Or get your hands on the popular brioches, tortillas or their chicharrones fried at the moment with PX and lime that have been causing a sensation in the neighborhood for months.
In short, you can have a meal for 10 or 15 € in this neighborhood of Seville with the added guarantee of enjoying a beer as it should be.
