With the vibrant month of March on the horizon begin to proliferate news that cross the seasons. And everything related to the Seville Fair arouses a timeless interest. As far as the design of the cover is concerned, one of the issues that is known in advance, it is to be celebrated that the design of its 2025 edition will not be regionalist for the first time in years.
The presentation of the monumental access to the Real has taken place in the Salón Colón of the City Hall of Seville by the delegate of Major Festivities, Manuel Alés. The architect Pablo Escudero Gisbert has won the competition of anonymous projects that, in this case, will be inspired by the pavilion of Chile.
How will be the cover of the Fair 2025
The cover of the Seville Fair 2025 will reproduce the iconic building, erected on the occasion of the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 and which houses the School of Art of Seville. A fusion of pre-Columbian and avant-garde art deco styles will embellish this construction that welcomes the fair.
The cover in question will measure 50 meters long by 40 meters high and moves away, for the first time in years, the Sevillian regionalism. And is that in 2023 was inspired by the Plaza of Spain and the Coliseum Theatre and 2024 did the same emulating the Mudejar Pavilion of Anibal Gonzalez.
A requirement for the contest since 2016 that the jury eliminated last year, allowing projects to be based on other architectural styles.
The delegate of festivities has stressed that “it is going to be a very recognizable cover […] that is going to surprise the Sevillians a lot”. Regarding the tones used, although colorful, are also different from the palette used on other occasions. Namely: the emblematic coral and white of the pavilion combined with the green of the building’s woodwork.
