With the vibrant month of October on the horizon begin to proliferate news that cross the seasons. And everything related to the Feria de Sevilla arouses a timeless interest. As far as the cover design is concerned, one of the issues that is known in advance, it is to be celebrated that the design of its 2025 edition will not be regionalist for the first time in years.
The presentation of the monumental access to the Real has taken place in the Salón Colón of the City Hall of Seville by the delegate of Major Festivals, Manuel Alés. The architect Pablo Escudero Gisbert has won the competition for anonymous projects that, in this case, will be inspired by the pavilion of Chile.
What the cover of the 2025 Fair will look like
The cover of the Feria de Sevilla 2025 will reproduce the iconic building, erected on the occasion of the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition and housing the Seville School of Art. A fusion of pre-Columbian and avant-garde art deco styles will embellish this building that welcomes the fair.
The cover in question will measure 50 meters long by 40 meters high and moves away, for the first time in years, the Sevillian regionalism. And is that in 2023 was inspired by the Plaza of Spain and the Coliseum Theatre and in 2024 did the same emulating the Mudejar Pavilion of Aníbal González. A requirement for the competition since 2016 that the jury eliminated last year, allowing projects to be based on other architectural styles.
The delegate of festivities has stressed that “it is going to be a very recognizable cover […] that is going to surprise a lot to the Sevillians”. Regarding the tones used, although colorful, are also different from the palette used on other occasions. Namely: the emblematic coral and white of the pavilion combined with the green of the building’s woodwork.
