In a city where bars, churches and carvings proliferate, one may end up believing that nothing will be able to amaze him. It is essential to remember that singularities exist. And that San Luis de los Franceses, for those who have not yet had the good fortune to visit it, is one of the most beautiful temples of Seville, which can now be visited at night.
The Provincial Council of Seville launches for the first time these night visits to the monumental complex, which will take place every Wednesday in July. That is, on 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 21:30 hours.
It is a tour of about 1 hour for small groups that will lead the Sevillian aristocrat who gave this land to the Jesuits, Doña Luisa de Medina, who will give life to the actress Cintia Luque, and the historian Florencio Quintero.
“The visit is in line with the interpretation of heritage and we will try to mix theater with music, with history, with an environment of historical characters that have had to do with this place, with the events that occurred, with the impact that San Luis has had not only in Spain, but also the relationship precisely of this Jesuit novitiate with the new world, “says the historian.
The journey and the price of the experience
This historical female character behind the construction of the church will narrate the vicissitudes of each room: the Church, the Domestic Chapel and the Crypt.
Doña Luisa de Medina, granddaughter of the administrator of the Mint, would continue the construction begun by her husband Juan Fernandez de Castro. Leonardo de Figueroa is responsible for this architectural jewel which was completed in 1730.
In addition, the tour will include musical pieces by Arcadia Antigua and performers César Carazo and Aníbal Soriano.
Tickets for guided tours of San Luis de los Franceses at night can be purchased from Wednesday, June 25 and are priced at 5 €.
