Not Mercadona, not Lidl, not Mas. According to the latest OCU satisfaction survey, consumers’ favorite supermarket is an American chain with a location in Seville. It is Costco, a hypermarket that has won over the public with its combination of premium quality, imported products, and competitive prices.
Unlike other supermarkets, Costco follows a shopping club model : to walk through its doors and access its offers, you must be a member.
Where is the Costco in Seville?
Seville has a special place in the history of the chain in Spain, as it was precisely in the Andalusian capital where they opened their first store in the country in 2014.

Located in the Higuerón Sur industrial park (Calle Ganímedes, 9), it has become a place of pilgrimage not only for Sevillians, but also for customers from neighboring provinces looking for products that cannot be found anywhere else. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
To become a member, you must be over 18 and pay an annual fee. For individuals, the cost is €30 plus VAT, while for freelancers and companies, the price is reduced to €25 plus VAT. Many users say that this investment quickly pays for itself thanks to savings on bulk purchases and fuel.
What do customers value most?
According to the OCU survey of 7,600 consumers, Costco’s success lies in its practicality, quality, and variety.
It is not a typical supermarket; it is a large industrial warehouse where gourmet food in family-size formats, electronics and appliances, sports, jewelry, beauty, books, toys, and even furniture coexist.
When it comes to the shopping experience at Costco, according to the OCU survey, customers appreciate the order, spaciousness, and lighting of these centers.
In a context where the shopping basket has become 36% more expensive in the last four years and the average household expenditure is around €407 per month, Costco’s exclusive prices have become a refuge for families looking to optimize their budget without compromising on quality.
