The month of June dedicates many of its leisure activities to advocating for and reflecting on diversity, and Seville is joining in with a host of Pride initiatives. Adding to all of these is the Cinemapride film series, which is part of CICUS’s “Movie Mondays” program.
The Center for Cultural Initiatives at the University of Seville (CICUS) will host three film screenings throughout the month. The project, promoted by QueerCineMad, Fundación Triángulo, and the Institut Français, “reinforces the University of Seville’s commitment to promoting a diverse, inclusive culture open to social dialogue.”

Monday, June 8 (7:00 p.m.) | ‘Le Garçon’ (Zabou Breitman & Florent Vassault)
A delicate French production that begins with the chance discovery of some old family photographs. Through the mysterious figure of a child, the directors weave a fascinating investigation where identity and the secrets of the past blur the line between reality and fiction.
Monday, June 15 (7:00 p.m.) | ‘See You’ (Han-Ting Yu)
From Taiwan comes a beautiful queer love story with touches of magical realism. It tells the story of Chien Yu and Chih Pang, two best friends whose reality shatters when Chih Pang disappears on his 16th birthday. Upon his return, something astonishing happens: only Chien Yu is able to see him.
Monday, June 22 (7:00 p.m.) | ‘Outerlands’ (Elena Oxman)
The grand finale is this debut feature that already dazzled at the prestigious U.S. festival SXSW. It takes us to San Francisco to follow in the footsteps of Cass, a non-binary person who survives by stringing together precarious jobs. The unexpected arrival of a coworker’s daughter will unleash a whirlwind of childhood memories and poorly healed wounds. An intimate exploration of what it means to be queer in a polarized world.
As a showcase for independent cinema, this series allows audiences to enjoy a good film in air-conditioned comfort while also participating in collective spaces for discussion.
Tickets for the three screenings are completely free, but seating is limited. They can be reserved in advance on the Entradium platform.
In addition, last-minute tickets will be available at the box office once ticket-holding audience members have entered the theater, approximately ten minutes before the event, provided that the venue has not reached capacity.
In addition to the above, the Cinefórum organized by the La Golfa collective will provide context for the film Pride before its screening on Friday, June 19, at 7:00 p.m.
