The 2026 Seville April Fair is here, and with it comes the major challenge of mobility, traffic closures, and restricted access.
Starting this Monday, April 20, the Seville City Council has implemented special traffic restrictions that will affect thousands of drivers. If you plan to travel around the Real area, take note of the schedules and road closures so you don’t get stuck.
The traffic plan will remain in effect until next Monday, April 27, at 6:30 a.m.
Traffic closures and one-way streets due to the April Fair
The area around Los Remedios will undergo a major reorganization. These are the main avenues where traffic rules will change:
- Avenida Virgen de Luján becomes one-way from the Glorieta de las Cigarreras toward Santa Fe. Access to cross streets (Monte Carmelo, Virgen de la Montaña, etc.) is restricted.
- Avenida de María Luisa. One-way traffic from the Glorieta de San Diego toward the river. The lanes will be reserved for buses and official services.
- Meanwhile, Flota de Indias and Adolfo Suárez avenues will serve as regulated exit routes toward the neighborhood (one-way toward Las Cigarreras).
- On Paseo de las Delicias, there will be mandatory detours to redirect traffic toward the La Rábida area.
El Real: Total Traffic Restrictions and Evacuation Routes
Additionally, starting at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, the fairgrounds will be completely pedestrianized. Therefore, driving will be prohibited throughout the Real, Calle del Infierno, and Calle Remeros.
Loading and unloading will only be permitted between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The evacuation routes will be Juan Pablo II and Alfredo Kraus avenues, which must remain free of traffic to serve as safety corridors.
Residents of Tablada and Los Remedios: How to enter the neighborhood
Access to neighboring neighborhoods is restricted to prevent gridlock caused by visitors.
- Residents of Tablada must enter via the checkpoint on José Delgado Brackenbury Street, next to the CEPSA station, as access from Juan Pablo II will remain closed.
- In Los Remedios, access controls will be stepped up starting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20. Streets such as Santa Fe and López de Gomara will have varying restrictions depending on the time of day.
As usual, taxis and ride-hailing vehicles will be allowed to enter these neighborhoods provided they are carrying passengers with a destination on the inner streets. In any case, they must leave immediately after completing their service.
If you are a resident, always display your resident pass to speed up checks by the Local Police.
Impacts on the SE-30: avoid these exits
If you’re coming from outside Seville or driving through the city, be careful at the ring road exits:
- Exit 12 (Puerto Oeste / Los Remedios) will remain closed during peak hours (typically from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.).
- As noted, the access roads to Juan Pablo II and Blas Infante — — will also experience intermittent closures from the SE-30.
As an alternative, we recommend using the A-49 and the sections of the SE-30 that connect to areas not immediately adjacent to the Real.
Thousands of residents and visitors flock to this area of Seville every year to enjoy the April Fair. To do so, using public transportation is the only guaranteed way to get close to the entrance without fines or delays.
In any case, avoid the Cigarreras intersection between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.—the time when traffic is heaviest due to the horse parade—if you have to drive.
