Seville is abuzz with news related to the highly anticipated Berlin premiere, from the glitz of the red carpet to the concert on the floating stage on the Guadalquivir. The preparations surrounding the ‘Jarana del Guadalquivir’ bring with them the usual traffic restrictions and closures in downtown Seville.
We’ve compiled everything known about traffic disruptions from May 7 to 11 in Seville.
Road Closures on Laraña and Campana
The city’s main thoroughfare will see major closures to accommodate the surprises Netflix has in store.
- Calle Laraña. Total traffic closure from 5:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, until 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9. While you’ll be able to walk through the area, forget about driving a car or riding a motorcycle.
- In Campana, only taxis and buses will be allowed access to Laraña, from 4:00 p.m. on Friday until midnight on Saturday. All other traffic will be diverted to Calle Imagen.
Triana and the river: the epicenter of the ‘Jarana’
The Guadalquivir River will take center stage with that floating structure already visible on the river, and this will directly impact Betis Street.
The picturesque street facing the river will be completely closed from 4:00 p.m. on Saturday until 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 10. If you’re coming by car, you’ll be rerouted via Calle Troya.
As for the Betis pedestrian promenade, the left side (the one facing the river) will be closed to pedestrians.
Finally, Marqués de Contadero will be cordoned off all day Friday, May 8, for lighting and sound rehearsals. Perhaps the perfect spot to watch from the Triana Bridge.
San Telmo Bridge and Los Remedios
While the San Telmo Bridge will remain open to traffic, the sidewalk along the Río Grande will be closed from midnight on Friday until Sunday morning.
In addition, a temporary pedestrian lane will be set up on the roadway, which means there will be one fewer exit lane from Los Remedios toward downtown.
