The repertoire of sophisticated restaurants, with an important aesthetic component and especially those located in historic buildings, we are accustomed to think, are directly proportional to high tickets. Not so in Casa Inquieta, which occupies what was once La Taberna del Alabardero in this magnificent 19th century palace and whose proposal will be something to talk about.
What happens within its walls is still a rara avis in the city. Perhaps sevillania and flamenco, elegant lounges framed in tiles, a menu with tradition and reasonable prices. A feeling that the 20th of Zaragoza is already something else.
“The Seville of always, as never before”, they say from this new space that perpetuates the excellence of Alabardero combining leisure, flamenco and Sevillian culture, also (and finally) for the Sevillians.
Home of the poet J. Antonio Cavestany, the old tavern that projected Luis de Lezama, quarry in turn of the School of Hospitality, this house now intends to pay tribute to the genuine Seville.
What to eat at Casa Inquieta

A search for purity from the palate to the pulse of the soleá, of feeling that the spaces belong to the locals. This is how Casa Inquieta seems to take root.
Its varied lounges allow to savor without haste as its bar lends itself to relaxed meetings, to surrender to the conversation and to penetrate, gradually, in this 360 experience that continues in the bowels of this palace: in its tablao.
Although the project transcends the tourist and gastronomic aspects, the logic is compelling as far as its cuisine is concerned. A succinct menu based on the traditional Andalusian recipe book, which includes abacería, medias, stews and fried food.
The prices range between tapas for 3, 4 and 5 € and fried food for 13 or 16 €. The Iberian cured meats, the ham dish or the loin of pork loin, 27 and 28 €, respectively, are on the rise.
Architectural and artistic heritage
This restaurant in Zaragoza street has always dazzled by its appearance and this renovation has only enhanced its visual qualities. The original elements that give memory and personality to the space have been preserved: doors, skirting boards, beams, tables and woodwork remain intact.
The most significant changes are the handcrafted bar, inspired by period woodwork, and the tablao, hidden behind a thick curtain in the Magnolio courtyard. The antique furniture, traditional fabrics and noble materials give it an even more authentic look.
A cooler atmosphere can be felt on the upper floor and on the rooftop that crowns El Arenal from the top floor.

The quest for purity: flamenco for Sevillians
Casa Inquieta aspires to become a flamenco destination for the city’s residents. Or, in other words, in those redoubts of Sevillian uniqueness where the magic happens. Something similar, at least, was experienced in its inauguration on October 31.
Posters with artists of the first order to give life to this house that, somehow, aims to evoke the old cafes singer, the spontaneity of the flamenco clubs that are already scarce in the center of the city.
The project’s main partners are Rafael Cebolla, Ángela Barón, Raimundo Anido and Juan Manuel García – Genoveva Torres (Ovejas Negras Company), and Grupo Lezama. It also has the support of the Barbadillo family.
