Labor Day falls on a Friday, making the May long weekend one of the most appealing of the year for enjoying the city’s attractions or taking a spring getaway. If you’re staying in Seville and need to stock up—whether to relax or celebrate a meal with friends—we’ve rounded up the major chains that are closed this Friday and those that are open during the holiday.
Some stores—especially “Express” locations or those in tourist areas—will remain open. Here’s a quick guide to where to shop this holiday Friday in Seville.

Stores that will remain closed
As is customary on national holidays of this kind, the following chains will not open any of their stores in Seville:
- Mercadona: True to its policy of not opening on holidays.
- Lidl and Aldi: All their stores will remain closed until Saturday, May 2.
- MAS Supermarkets: Completely closed throughout the province.
- El Corte Inglés and Hipercor: The group’s supermarkets will be closed today.
If you have questions about a specific neighborhood store, we recommend checking the official search tools for Carrefour or DIA, as some hours may be subject to last-minute changes depending on foot traffic.
