The 2026 work calendar, to the disappointment of many, does not offer a long weekend for February 28, Andalusia Day, which falls on a Saturday this year. This day celebrates the approval of the Statute of Autonomy and coincides with the weekend. In order to facilitate shopping, if the occasion demands it, we have compiled the opening hours of supermarkets in Seville on Andalusia Day.
Most chains in Seville have opted to open their doors to avoid two consecutive days of closure (Saturday and Sunday). However, not all of them open at the same time.
Confirmed opening hours in Seville for this Saturday
- Mercadona: from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., open for half a day only.
- El Corte Inglés: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., including Hipercor and Supercor.
- Lidl will be open during its usual hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- The same applies to Aldi supermarkets, which will not experience any changes in Seville and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- Carrefour usually opens on Sundays and public holidays, according to its website. However, each store has different opening hours, which vary between Express and Market. The best thing to do is to check each store using this search engine.
- Something similar happens with DIA, whose franchises set their own opening hours. Most will be open, some only in the morning, and you can check them at this link.
Which supermarkets are open all day?
If you want to do your shopping in the afternoon, Lidl and Aldi are your best options, as they close at their usual time of 9:30 p.m. in key locations such as Nervión, Miraflores, and the city center. El Corte Inglés stores (Duque, Nervión, and Sevilla Este) will close a little earlier than usual, at 8:00 p.m.
