The end of Holy Week leaves no bitter aftertaste in Seville, which soon turns its attention to the upcoming April Fair. The calendar marks this event in red, with parallel events being prepared: flamenco fashion markets, fairs outside the Real, or initiatives like the early “Noche del ‘pescaíto'” celebrated in Valencina de la Concepción, where a free tasting of assorted fried seafood is offered.
An irresistible event taking place this year on Saturday, April 11, at the town’s Municipal Pavilion.
Doors will open at 9:00 p.m. to kick off a night designed to get things revved up for Seville’s big festival week.
Live music by the legendary Amigos de Gines
And since fairgoers don’t live on food alone, Valencina applies the same logic. Thus, for the occasion, the City Council has prepared a musical program to set the mood for the day.
On one hand, the legendary group Amigos de Gines will perform their most classic sevillanas to keep the dancing going. On the other, and hailing from Cabezas de San Juan, Menta y Romero will bring a touch of freshness and renewal to the genre.
The musical performances will officially begin at 10:00 p.m.
To complement the complimentary tasting, the venue will feature a snack bar offering a wide variety of drinks and other traditional tapas at affordable prices.
A perfect plan to get a taste of the fair’s atmosphere without the crowds at the Real in Los Remedios, and just 25 minutes from Seville.
