The connection between Seville and the heat is well known, even though this has been a mild spring. This year, however, the Seville City Council is bringing forward the opening of its municipal swimming pools to the weekends in June.
In anticipation of the summer heat, Sevillians will be able to enjoy a swim ahead of schedule before the official opening on June 23.
Key dates: When and where can we swim?
To whet your appetite before the official season begins (which this year runs from June 23 to September 6), three of the city’s pools will open their doors on an exceptional basis on June 13, 14, 20, and 21.
The hours for recreational swimming during these weekends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Alcosa, Torreblanca, and Rochelambert facilities.
Before 12:00 p.m. and after 8:00 p.m., these facilities will continue to be used for their usual sports activities, such as training sessions and courses.
Hours starting June 23 and a new pool
Once the official season begins, the map of swimming spots in Seville expands. The big news this year is the addition of a fifth facility: the Entreflores pool (East Seville), which will be reserved exclusively for recreational use.
Here are the hours from Tuesday to Sunday (12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) at Alcosa, Rochelambert, Torreblanca, and Sevilla Este (Entreflores).
In any case, the Tiro de Línea pool will maintain the same opening hours, but Monday through Friday.
Prices and passes: how much does it cost to cool off in Seville?
Prices remain affordable so that spending the day in the water is the most accessible plan for families or friends in the city of Seville:
- Adults: €5.00
- Children (ages 5 and up): €3.00
- Free for children under 5
- Season passes: from €40 to €180
In addition, there are special discounts for people with reduced mobility.
This measure aims not only to beat the heat but also to support work-life balance by extending the season by 20% to coincide with the children’s summer break.
