On a night like October 31, Seville manages like few other cities to mimic American customs while embracing tradition. Halloween, the eve of All Saints, is much more than trick or treat and ‘La Noche del Tenorio’ is good proof of this.
The Tuna of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Seville recovers this iconic event that runs through the streets of Santa Cruz by the hand of Don Juan Tenorio.
It will not be the only event around this literary character. The cemetery of Seville hosts its usual route by candlelight, there will be performances at the Book Fair, in the Espacio Santa Clara (until November 1) and in San Luis de los Franceses (until November 22).
Tour of the tuna in the ‘Noche del Tenorio’.

In 1976, the founders of this tuna, eager to go out, decided to meet on October 31 to remember in this way the figure of Don Juan Tenorio. 47 years later, this date has become more than a tradition. Both for the iconic tuna and for the large number of people who gather on this magical night.
Following the tradition, the tour starts at the Hostería del Laurel, located in the Plaza de los Venerables. In this location and at 20:30 hours the tuna will pay tribute to the work of Zorrilla, a farce written by our brother Eduardo Maestre. However, they warn to arrive in time, as it brings together every year a good number of listeners. At 21:00 the little number will start in the same square.

The route continues in parades to the Plaza Santa Marta, the scene where Don Juan kidnapped Doña Inés. It will be in this emblematic place where a series of sonnets will be recited at around 9:30 pm.
Seville is dressed in tunero capes and turquoise scholarships in this route that will head towards the Plaza de los Refinadores around 22:15 hours, putting an end to this colorful evening that is ‘La Noche del Tenorio’.
At 23:00 hours will take place the party of the tuna in the Bara Laredo.
