Drinking a beer, almost like a religion, occupies us on Sundays at noon in bars and terraces where families, parishioners and groups of friends congregate. One of its most established temples is the Bar Moraleja -which is located in the original premises in Zaragoza street and now also in the neighborhood of Nervión.
It will be within the walls of this second space, in the Plaza Pintor Amalio García del Moral where the second edition of its Beer Pulling Contest will be held this Sunday .
There will gather at 13:30 hours a dozen of 14 emblematic bars from different neighborhoods of Seville and a participant from Islantilla, Huelva. The prize in question will be the price in beer of the winner.
Dynamics of the contest and participating bars.
In this case, two aspects will be valued. On the one hand, the technique, cleanliness and presentation in terms of throwing a Cruzcampo cortá. On the other hand, and as a novel and at the same time hilarious practice already popularized in 2024, the launching and sliding of the beer from the shooter to the end of the bar.
The dynamics is typical of most competitions: several rounds will be held until the two best bars are found. The final round will pit the representatives of each venue against each other in the final head-to-head.
Specifically, the venues that will participate in this competition are
- Lola por Dios
- Amara Restaurant
- Vinoqüe Abacería
- El Patio de Cuna
- El Tenderete
- El Chiringuito Tavern
- El Lagar de Triana
- El Pantera Gastrobar
- La Bodeguita de Pi
- El Rincón de Kevin
- La Habanera
- Bar Julio César, reigning champion.
- The hosts: Bar Moraleja and Moraleja Nervión.
- El Disparate, from Islantilla (Huelva).
All in all, each of them will bring their most characteristic tapa for the attendees to enjoy. Admission to the event is free until full capacity is reached, and there will be an amateur contest in which attendees can participate.
Tapas and beers always go hand in hand in Moraleja where they hoist, in their own terms, the timeless costumbrismo.
