September is looming on the horizon with plans that link summer with autumn and where rural getaways are of special interest. One of the most unusual and little known is the Moon Train, a night experience that runs through the mining landscapes of Rio Tinto, just 1 hour drive from Seville.
In the heart of the province of Huelva takes place this route that combines nature, history and a pinch of night magic. Climb aboard this railroad and enjoy this mining area during full moon nights.
Thus, this historic train with very specific departures has scheduled its next appointment for September 5 and 6.
A mining route under the stars

The route begins at the Talleres Mina station, located on the A476 road between Minas de Riotinto and Nerva. Attendees should arrive about 20 minutes before departure to arrange boarding.
The train makes a stop of approximately one hour at the Frailes station, where visitors can bring their own food or enjoy the tables set up, accompanied by live music, bar service and snacks.
For those who don’t want to worry, there is also the possibility of reserving a picnic at the La Gilda bakery, by calling 662 482 232 up to four days in advance.
The whole experience lasts approximately 3 hours and offers a return journey adorned by the full moon, which turns the trip into a real night postcard.

Other activities in this environment
In addition to the Moon Train, the Río Tinto Mining Park offers a complete range of activities to get to know this unique environment.
These include guided visits to the mining heritage of the region, tours focused on the history of mineral extraction, and even a surprising proposal: an experience inspired by the planet Mars, given the similarity of certain landscapes of Rio Tinto with the Martian surface.
