Getting away from the city is also a way to escape the noise, restaurants and crowded streets and this plan is a sure-fire way to get there by metro. From this Friday until Sunday April 27 the Plaza de las Naciones will host the fourth edition of the Mairena Market Fest, which this 2025 will include a giant screen to watch the final of the Copa del Rey.
An ephemeral festival that brings together a wide range of national and international cuisine in different food trucks, a flamenco fashion market, live music and workshops and free children’s activities .
You will find it next to the metro station of Ciudad Expo, in Mairena del Aljarafe, and it looks like the perfect alternative for this weekend.
Gastronomic offer of this edition
For this edition will be added some acclaimed Sevillian restaurants. The first class cuisine of Bosco Benítez, Marabunda or Sal Gorda will attend the event to offer their elaborations.
In addition, there will be some classics: burgers and American barbecue from Los Parrilleros Smoke House; Asian baos from Sabor on Wheels; Más que Pizza, cooked live or Hot Dog & Music and Artesanos del Chicharrón.
For its part, the sweet area will come from the hand of La Tarta de la Madre de Cris.
In addition, this year will be attended by numerous gastronomic influencers including Pablo el Comilonas in charge of various activities, surprises and gastronomic contests.
What activities will the Mairena Market Fest host?
The inauguration of the festival will take place on Friday at 7:00 pm with a bachata class by 360 Mairena del Alfarafe.
As far as music is concerned, tribute bands and artists of various genres will enliven each day . Namely: Moving On, Indiana Pop, the rock of Doctor Diablo, the flamenco pop of Los Bomberay, and the energy of DJ Marietta.
As a great novelty, the Official Tribute to Manuel Carrasco and the performance of Ginés González, contestant of La Voz, with his band.
Fun is also guaranteed for the little ones. The occasion deserves it and different musical shows such as Jack Sparrow or Circklass juggling have been programmed. In addition, throughout the weekend there will be free children’s workshops, Costco activities and a giant Scalextric in the square.
Flamenco fashion for the fair
To all this should be added two other big bets. On the one hand, the flea market dedicated to flamenco fashion and fashion and flamenco accessories (there will be 15 stalls) in order to finalize purchases for the April Fair.
On the other hand, there will be artisan products, cheeses, sausages and oils as well as a solidarity fried fish whose profits will go to the projects of Luis Amigó de Mairena and the association Aefat.
