Getting away from the city is also a way to escape the noise, crowded restaurants, and bustling streets, and this plan is a surefire hit that you can reach by metro. From this Friday through Sunday, April 12, the Plaza de las Naciones will host the fifth edition of the Mairena Market Fest.
A pop-up festival featuring a wide variety of national and international cuisine from various food trucks, a craft market, live music, and free workshops and activities for children.
You’ll find it next to the Ciudad Expo metro station in Mairena del Aljarafe, and it seems like the perfect option for this weekend.
Culinary offerings at this year’s event
This year’s edition will feature some established favorites, such as American-styleburgers and barbecue from Los Parrilleros Smoke House and La Carnívora; Asian cuisine from Miss Sushi; Ta’Kool; and Artesanos del Chicharrón.
As for sweets, they’ll be provided by La Tarta de la Madre de Cris.
The event will also feature a charity rice dish to benefit the Enredando Association on both Saturday and Sunday.
In addition, this year will feature numerous influencers such as Ivanfoodchallenge, Gonzalo ‘el de las bolas,’ and Alex ‘el tapitas,’ among others.
What activities will the Mairena Market Fest feature?
The festival will open on Friday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. with a bachata dance class.
As for the music, performances by various groups will liven up each day. Specifically: Guateque Plan and Fito Voltaje on Friday; DJ, Son de Cuba & Cía, and Indiana Pop on Saturday; and Fernando Bernal, Luis Romero, and Los Bomberay on Sunday.
Fun is also guaranteed for the little ones. The occasion calls for it, and various musical performances, juggling acts by Cirklas-Circo, and La Factoría de Trapos have been scheduled.
Among the new features of this year’s event is the Alhambra beer tent, where there will be beer tastings and guided tastings.
Flamenco fashion ahead of the fair
In addition to all this, there are two other major highlights. First, the market dedicated to flamenco fashion and accessories, perfect for finalizing your purchases for the April Fair.
