If there is one thing that characterizes Seville is that you can find art even under a stone. Everything has art in this city: the museums, the cathedral, the palaces, the people and the garbage cans. Yes, you have seen it right. Even a dumpster is a work of street art.
But what would Velázquez say if he rose from the grave? Would he die again from seeing such an abomination? We’ll never know, but I’m pretty sure that after the impression, he’d catch his breath and would be short of time to go buy that magic wall ink. Here are some of the works by which Velázquez would go from being a baroque artist to a graffiti artist:
1. The most mythical
One of the most emblematic graffiti is the one that decorates the exterior of the Plaza de Armas bus station. In the words of one of the artists, the drawing represents “an angel who from heaven, with a kind of weapon in allusion to the Plaza de Armas, takes care of a sleeping child who is dreaming of Seville”.
2. The most popular antihero
3. With current content
4. Gamer graffiti
5. Icons of Polígono San Pablo, the urban art district in Seville.
6. Pop culture mix
7. The series of the year, portrayed in Gines
8. Abstracts
