Seville families who have recently had a baby or expanded their family through adoption can now apply for the Seville City Council’s Baby Check. This is a one-time financial grant of up to €600, which does, however, have certain requirements.
We’ve compiled everything you need to take advantage of this financial relief.
Who is eligible to apply for the €600 Baby Check?
The grant must be applied for by one of the parents or the child’s legal guardian. In order for the City Council to award the funds, very specific requirements must be met, divided into three categories:
About the baby:
- Key date: the child must have been born or legally adopted between January 1, 2025, and May 22, 2026. “In cases of adoption, the date of the judicial or administrative decision shall be considered equivalent to the date of birth.”
- Furthermore, the child must be under 4 years of age at the time of adoption.
- The child must be registered at the same address as you in the city of Seville.
About you
- Residency in Seville: You must have been continuously registered in the city of Seville since at least January 1, 2021 ( a minimum of 5 years).
- You may be a Spanish citizen or a foreign national. If you are a foreign national, you must provide proof of uninterrupted legal residence in Spain since January 1, 2021.
- You must have parental authority, have no outstanding penalties or debts with the government, and have no unpaid taxes or fines with the City Council.
- You must be the account holder of the bank account where the funds will be deposited.
- Note: If both parents live together and submit duplicate applications, the City Council will automatically give priority to the mother.

How to complete the process step by step and avoid the most common mistakes
The application period is open for a very limited time: you have from May 28 to June 26, 2026 (both dates inclusive). There are two ways to apply:
Option A: Online (Electronic Portal)
Access the Seville City Council’s Electronic Office website with your digital certificate or Cl@ve.
The mistake many people make. After you log in and start the process, the system will ask you to re-authenticate at the end. Be sure to click “Submit” and then “Finish.” If you skip the last step, it will be saved as a draft and will not count as submitted.
- To check, go to your “Citizen Folder” on the municipal website and see if a file code has been generated. For example:
2026/SBS_0000XXXXX. If it says “DRAFT XXXXX,” click on it and complete the process.
Option B: In-person (Registry Offices)
The other option is to visit the Seville City Council’s Registration Assistance Offices. For this option, you must bring the completed official document called ANNEX I ( you can find it in the forms section of their website).
What documents must be submitted?
If you authorize the City Council to access your data, you do not need to submit any additional paperwork. They will automatically verify your ID, residency registration, and tax debts.
You will only need to upload or submit documents if you are in one of these special situations:
- Judicial or administrative decision regarding the adoption.
- Court order for legal guardianship or power of attorney if acting through a representative.
