There is a long tradition in Seville that irrevocably links All Saints’ Day with Don Juan Tenorio. Consolidated for years, the dramatized visits to the cemetery of San Fernando are already a classic that have brought together more than 35,000 people.
And the fact is that, as custom has established, the famous play by Zorrilla is usually performed in different cemeteries around the country at the end of October. This is the proposal to which Engranajes Culturales returns to lavish this 2025 until December 8.

The leitmotiv of this plan is love and death. Throughout this experience, the spectator will enjoy the nightfall and attend an interpretation of Don Juan lit by candlelight. A unique alternative to connect with one of the classics of Spanish literature.
The Cemetery of Seville is the site chosen for the interpretation. The activity also includes a heritage interpretation with the literary relationships between love, death and cemeteries, focusing on the third act of the play.
Thus, Don Juan and Doña Inés will step on the holy ground to transport us to the place where their love ended. A journey to the city of the dead by the hand of Don Juan Tenorio.
Because the appointment is in the first person and in an unparalleled space, discovering in turn some of the most important characters who rest in the Campo Santo.
Namely: Miguel Tenorio de Castilla (Secretary and lover of Queen Isabel II), the Painter José Villegas Cordero, the sculptor Antonio Susillo, author of the Mieles Christ preserved in the Cemetery, Manuel García Cuesta “El Espartero”, Ignacio Sánchez Mejías or José Gómez Ortega “Joselíto”.
When do these visits take place?

These dramatized visits of Don Juan Tenorio in the cemetery will start on the eve of All Saints’ Day, October 24. However, they will continue throughout the coming months.
Specifically, tickets are available for October 24 and 26; November 1, 7, 9, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 30.
For the month of December, the activity will be held on the 6th and 8th. For both dates there will be two shows available, at 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm.
As has been the case so far, the meeting point will be the main gate of the Cemetery of San Fernando and the duration of the route will be 75 minutes.
