Seville is preparing for a historic twinning on the banks of the Guadalquivir. On February 5 and 6, 2026, the De La O restaurant will become the sensory embassy of Cyprus on the occasion of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. An event that transcends the culinary to become a cultural dialogue between Seville’s avant-garde and the millennial tradition of the Mediterranean island.
A menu with soul and six hands
The experience, designed for just 40 diners per night, is the result of an exceptional collaboration between three culinary figures: Cypriot chefs Andreas Anastasiou and Giorgos Damianou, together with the host and leading figure in Seville’s product-based cuisine, Manuel Llerena.

Under the oenological direction of Ektoras Tsiakkas, the menu offers a journey through the Cypriot pantry, paired with wine gems made from native grapes that rarely cross our borders.
The six-course pairing menu is a display of technique and respect for the origin:
- The evening whets the appetite with the emblematicpourékia (meat pies) accompanied by azivanía, an aged distillate that prepares the palate and is a kind of pomace brandy.
- These first courses will feature local textures, such aseliópsomo (olive bread) and the comfortingtrajanás soup with the iconichalloumi cheese. In this case, it is paired with amuklós red wine made from mávro grapes.
- Mediterranean freshness. These small starters are followed by a tomato and jalítzia cheese salad , which gives way to octopus in wine with hummus, paired with a whitexynistéri.
- The star dish will be kléftiko, lamb simmered with kolokási (taro) and yogurt, accompanied by the powerful bambakáda grape.
- The finishing touch will be ananari cream with poached pear and carob ice cream onpishía, served with the legendarycommandaria (kομανταρία), the oldest wine with a designation of origin in the world.
