Real Betis, through its Foundation, has set up a sensory room at La Cartuja Stadium to enhance the experience for fans with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or cognitive disabilities.
The launch of this space reflects a commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
This space, a first of its kind in Spain and “developed in collaboration with the Royal Spanish Football Federation,” is designed to enhance the matchday experience for fans with special needs.
The room in question was inaugurated on Sunday, March 15, in conjunction with the match against Celta de Vigo.
What is a sensory room?
For many people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the 60,000 voices in the stands or the public address system can be irritating or even painful.
That is why this corner of the stadium is a sort of technological “oasis.” The match is viewed live through a protective glass screen, the lighting is adjustable, it features soundproofing, and it is equipped with tactile materials and activities to help fans relax during the game.
As the club’s statement emphasized, Betis remains the only LaLiga club with a permanent space of this kind, maintaining its commitment even as it temporarily relocates to La Cartuja. The lounge will remain operational until the Green-and-White team returns to the Heliópolis neighborhood.
Ticket prices for this exclusive Betis area
The process for interested fans to visit this inclusive lounge is simple.
To request use of the lounge, please email kapacita@realbetisbalompie.es. The email must include the number of tickets, the fan’s information, the companion’s information, and a disability certificate or document certifying that the individual has ASD or special needs.
Access is arranged so that each person with ASD may be accompanied by one companion; however, depending on availability, the possibility of additional companions may be considered.
As for pricing, for Liga Clase B matches, the ticket + companion package costs just €15.
For La Liga matches, the Gran Derbi, Copa del Rey matches, or European competitions, availability and prices will need to be checked when the time comes.
Leisure with a Purpose in Seville
The inauguration took place on Friday, March 13, and was led by the president of the Real Betis Football Foundation, Rafael Gordillo; its manager, Rafa Muela; and the heads of Autismo Sevilla, Mercedes Molina and Marcos Zamora.
They were joined by the RFEF’s Director of Brand and Corporate Social Responsibility, Ignacio Solana, and board member Minerva Salas.
In addition, the RFEF will use this space for major events such as the Copa del Rey Final.
