Seville is updating TUSSAM’s regulatory framework through the approval of the Regulatory Ordinance published in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP). The document outlines the restructuring of the catalog of transit passes and the introduction of new cards by 2027.
New Tickets and Restructuring of Passes
The update to the regulations adapts transit passes to actual user demand, simplifies the offerings aimed at visitors, and redefines the eligibility requirements for resident discounts.
Replacement of tourist passes
On the one hand, the traditional 1- and 3-day tourist passes are being phased out of the system. In their place, two new options are being introduced, tailored to average lengths of stay in the city:
- 48-Hour Tourist Pass: Designed for weekend getaways. It will cost €14 plus a €2 refundable deposit upon return of the pass. It is valid for Tussam as well as the Special Airport Line.
- 4-day Tourist Pass, designed for extended stays. Its price is set at €18.
Both passes maintain the right to unlimited trips during the contracted validity period throughout the entire bus network and on the tram (Metrocentro).
On the other hand, it is known that TUSSAM fares will not change significantly, pending a decision on whether the government will extend the public transportation subsidy.
Official Fares and General Tickets
The bulk of the standard fare structure remains in effect, while direct payment via physical or mobile (contactless) bank cards at bus validators is being consolidated.
- One-way ticket without the right to transfer to other lines: €1.40.
- Multi-trip Card without transfers (€0.69 per trip). Rechargeable prepaid card with a minimum balance of €7.
- Multi-Trip Card with transfers (€0.76 per trip). It allows transfers between different lines within one hour of the first validation.
- The Special Airport (EA) line maintains its fare, which is separate from the rest of the urban network, set at €6.00 for a one-way ticket and €8.00 for a same-day round-trip ticket.
- 30-Day Card / Monthly Pass (€35.00). Offers unlimited rides throughout the entire network for a period of 30 consecutive days starting from the first use.
Changes to Discounts and Social Passes
The ordinance precisely defines eligibility for discounted passes to ensure that municipal subsidies reach low-income groups or those registered as residents of Seville:
- Youth Card.
- Senior Citizen Card: Full or partial free travel remains in effect, depending on the income brackets established by the Public Multiple-Effect Income Indicator (IPREM).
- The solidarity pass for registered unemployed individuals, the pass for people with functional diversity, and the student pass for children ages 3 to 11 will also remain free.
