The sheer number of activities Seville offers after sunset gives a hint of the vibrant life the city can have—against all odds—during the summer. In addition to the Alcázar and the CAAC’s summer movie series, there are also the Summer Nights at Cajasol.
The Cajasol Foundation has already unveiled the program for one of its most eagerly anticipated events among locals. This cultural event takes place in the courtyard of its headquarters and will kick off on July 2. It will run through September 3, transforming its iconic inner courtyard into the perfect retreat for summer nights.
The schedule is packed with urban music, major international tribute shows, comedy, and a great perk. Events start at 9:00 p.m., and admission is completely free until capacity is reached.
From Silvio to Michael Jackson: July’s lineup in the Cajasol courtyard
On July 2, the local talent of Asere kicked off this series. The Seville-based group broke the ice with a live performance that fuses the most contemporary and urban flamenco with rumba-pop rhythms.
For lovers of music’s greatest legends, July 10 brought “Human Nature Live: A Tribute to Michael Jackson, ” a large-scale show led by Miguel Concha that meticulously recreates the choreography and essence of the King of Pop.
A few days later, on July 16, Sevillian singer-songwriter Luitingo took the stage with his blend of Spanish pop and flamenco flair.
One of the most moving events took place on July 23 with “¡Va por Silvio!” Led by Andrés Herrera ‘Pájaro,’ this concert paid tribute to the legendary Sevillian rocker Silvio on the 25th anniversary of his death.
And to end the month on a lighthearted note, on July 30, comedian José Luis Calero will present his stand-up special “Humor as a Way of Life, ” an interactive show that’s perfect for unwinding.
An Adele tribute or free swing dancing to make the most of August and September
Meanwhile, the August program begins on the 6th. For the occasion, the courtyard will take a trip to the United Kingdom with “Hello Adele,” a thoughtful tribute to the British artist performed by Rosam and a band of eight musicians.
The middle of the month will be dedicated to the performing arts. “Pijama para seis” is a fast-paced comedy of errors with lighthearted humor, starring Gabino Diego and Jesús Cisneros, which will be performed on August 13.
On August 20, you can join an introductory swing dance masterclass led by Sevilla Swing Dance.
Great songs and choreography will return on August 27 with “Hola Raffaella, ” a vibrant tribute to the iconic Raffaella Carrá hosted by singer Roser.
Los Saxos del Averno will bring the season to a spectacular close on September 3. This renowned black music ensemble promises to send off the series in style with R&B, boundless energy, and a unique stage presence.
With this diverse lineup, the Cajasol Foundation reaffirms its commitment to combating the high temperatures with a dose of evening entertainment.
