In addition to the familiar atmosphere at San Pablo, the Icónica Sevilla Santalucía Fest will return, and together with City Hall, they are finalizing the details to screen the World Cup final on a giant screen in Plaza de España this coming Sunday, July 19.
The match, which will be played in New York, kicks off at 9:00 p.m. (peninsular time) and promises to bring together thousands of Sevillians in one of the world’s most iconic settings.
How can you get to Plaza de España to watch the final?
There are still a few loose ends to tie up. The festival organizers and the Seville City Council are racing against the clock to finalize access to the venue. Currently, two options are being considered, according to ABC de Sevilla.
- Admission is free until capacity is reached.
- A symbolic admission fee (similar to what was done at the “Orgullo en la Plaza” event, where admission cost 1 euro). They’re also considering the possibility of including a drink with this admission fee.
No concerts afterward: all attention is on the national team
Unlike what happened during the semifinals—when the match forced the postponement of British DJ Fatboy Slim’sconcert —this time, soccer will be the sole and absolute star of the show.
The concert lineup for the Icónica Sevilla Santalucía Fest will officially wrap up this Saturday with performances by Sting 3.0 and Dea Matrona. Therefore, on Sunday, the Plaza de España will be decked out entirely in red to cheer on the national team as it seeks its new star.
