Buses arriving in the center of Seville stop hopefully at Ponce de León or Plaza del Duque if they come from the Alameda. The rest of the way, on foot, in front of the daily (and multitudinous) stamp of people lining bell. The works in the old town of Seville, regarding the future line TB1 -the aforementioned Tranvibús- have been a tedium since last September. The City Council of Seville has already announced the second phase of the works for the extension of this lane that will connect Santa Justa and El Duque.
This is a phase that will cut La Campana and Martin Villa to the access to the parking lot of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in Laraña street. Thus, it will only be possible to transit to the Plaza Cristo de Burgos, reserving Encarnación for loading and unloading.
These alterations, which will also affect access to private parking lots in the vicinity, will be maintained until the first half of January 2026.
Timetable of works in the center for the Tramibus
According to elcorreoweb, these are the 13 phases comprising the first section, which will last 10 months.
- Campana and Martín Villa: from the third week of September to the third week of November.
- Cutting of Martín Villa and Laraña streets: from the third week of October to the end of December.
- Cutting of Laraña and Imagen streets: from the end of November to the middle of February.
- Imagen Street will be cut from the end of November to mid-March.
- Actions in Plaza Ponce de León: from the second to the fourth week of February.
- Actions in Plaza Ponce de León and Plaza Padre Jerónimo de Córdoba: from the third week of February to mid-April.
- Cutting of Escuelas Pías Street: from the second week of March to the end of April.
- Jáuregui Street, from mid-April to early May.
- There will be partial closures on Puñonrostro and Puerta del Osario between the second week of May and the beginning of June.
- One of the lanes of María Auxiliadora on the margin will be affected during the last two weeks of June.
- Cutting of Almirante Apodaca Street: from early June to mid-July.
- Actions in Plaza del Duque: from the second week of April to mid-July.
If all goes according to schedule, the Tramibús, which already links Torreblanca and Santa Justa, will then have stops at Amador de los Ríos, José Laguillo, Ponce de León, Imagen and Duque. The Tramibús will, in fact, be one of the few lines linking Duque with Seville East (the complete route will take 35 minutes).
Therefore, if the works are on schedule, the works will be completed in July 2026, when the testing period will begin. If this is the case, the Tramibus would officially start operating on September 30.
